This should be pretty straightforward. It's a very early PG ebook but
nothing jumps out at me at a glance.

Make sure to read the Standard Ebooks Manual of Style before starting,
as you won't know what to fix if you haven't read the standards. In
particular, please closely review the semantics, high level patterns,
and typography sections:

Note that the author name should be `L. M. Montgomery`, note the periods
and spaces. If you haven't gotten too far, I would restart with `se
create-draft`. If you don't, remember to update the cover and titlepage
SVGs.

Thanks Alex - I haven't gotten too far yet, so will restart with this in mind

I've made a start on this today, restarting to fix the author name, and have gotten to chapter 6. t's all looking fairly straightforward at this stage, which is a great start. I had a couple of small questions though: 

• In chapter 6, i wasn't sure if I've marked up the snippet of poetry correctly - I've used "blockquote epub:type="z3998:poem" - is that the right way of handling this? 
• I've been converting words in all caps into <em> styled italics - i believe this follows the style guide, and aligns with the scan I'm using, which uses italics for emphasis rather than caps - is this correct? https://dn790005.ca.archive.org/0/items/anneshouseofdrea00montuoft/anneshouseofdrea00montuoft.pdf

Your poetry formatting is a little off. Make sure to read 7.5 in the manual and use the code structure and styling given there. Also, it should probably be z3998:verse and not z3998:poem (z3998:poem is reserved for complete poems).

In general your manual semantic changes look good (although there are some small things that I would flag if I was doing a detailed code review). I suggest rereading chapter 8 of the manual closely (it is one of the most-used sections) before continuing on your semantic changes. Also, something I noticed is that you are not using hgroups correctly. See 7.2.

As there are already italics in the source, I’d say that all-caps should have extra emphasis and be <strong>, not <em>. Our styling automatically makes them small-caps, but you’ll still need to convert them to lowercase in the source.

Thanks both - will work through these now. Just to clarify, re  <strong> vs <em>, as I'm unclear from re reading the style guide:  

• The Gutenberg source has certain emphasised words rendered as small caps (ie, 'There’s another, NOT a sister.’) but in the scan the "NOT' is rendered in italics ('There’s another, not a sister.’)
• Should I: 
• convert tto lowercase in the source text and use <strong> tags to render them out as small caps, or  
• convert to lowercase in the source text, and use <em> tags to reflect the scan?

I take it back: looking through the source the only italics are for “I” which one needs if there’s a reliance on all-caps for emphasis. So we can do what you were originally doing: convert words in all-caps to lowercase and wrap them in <em> tags.

The art choice is fine, I’ve assigned it.

There’s one problem though: something’s gone wrong during the generation of your repo. The correct URL should be https://standardebooks.org/ebooks/l-m-montgomery/annes-house-of-dreams, but you’ve got https://standardebooks.org/ebooks/lm-montgomery/annes-house-of-dreams (missing dash on the l-m). It looks like you ran create-draft with the author name “LM Montgomery” instead of “L. M. Montgomery”. This has pretty wide ranging implications: it’ll be wrong in content.opf, the colophon and imprint, and cover and titlepages.

The easiest way out of this is going to run the create-draft command again, but this time with the correct author name. You can then copy into your project the new cover and titlepage files, and update the rest to match.

I did have an issue with the writing the author name incorrectly right at the start, but I had thought i'd resolved it. 

Looking at my colophon.xhtml for example, I see "<a href="https://standardebooks.org/ebooks/l-m-montgomery/annes-house-of-dreams">standardebooks.org/ebooks/l-m-montgomery/annes-house-of-dreams</a>.</p>" as the link, and the same also in content.opf. I'm happy to go back to create-draft and resolve, but I'm just not seeing the issue?
