hello -
it was suggested that i drop a note to this list if i was interested in developing and sharing a standard ebook version of this title. Â it's not a particularly long titlebut as i understand it, fully in the public domain and not available as a standard ebook (https://standardebooks.org/ebooks/john-stuart-mill/utilitarianism). Â
if this is something of interest to the community, i'd be happy to take it on.Â

Hi Steve, we have this listed as part of a "great books" collection, but
it's actually an essay and we would put it in an Essays omnibus by JSM.
That would require a research spreadsheet first to list and categorize
all of JSM's short and long works so we can decide which work to put
where. Then we would work on that ebook.

thanks for the additional info and clarification.
i can certainly get a research spreadsheet started and make a run at population.Â
i will follow up on this.

OK great. Another thing to note is that an essays omnibus *might* be too
complicated for a first production (depending on how long it might be)
so be prepared to put that project aside in favor of a simpler one, if
your research determines that such an omnibus would be long.

there's no shortage of essay and book material. Â much of which doesn't seem to have project gutenberg coverage, but is covered by scans, etc which can be found in archive.org.

Great start, thanks!
It looks like the automatic checkboxes in the Is PD? column were
removed, can you restore those?
Now, we need to get word counts so we can categorize where these will
go. Once you enter word counts, the SE category column will populate
automatically.
Then, you can make a decision on which omnibus, if any, each work would
go in, and enter that in the SE Omnibus Name column. Right now we're
just considering the omnibus "Essays."
For our purposes, anything shorter than 40k words should probably go in
an omnibus.
