Looking at the advance wanted list, I propose to work on this one. The latest PD edition I see is published in 1925.

Weijia,

Looking at the book structure, there is a notes section at the end of Part 1.

I'm thinking the glossary and endnotes will go into backmatter sections like we usually do.  There is a Time Table with some entries.  There is also a shorter Time Table at the end of Part 2.

Would it make sense to combine these into one table in an appendix section at the end?  The table in Part 1 has an extra column for "Year of the Hejra" that is lacking in the latter table, but even this has some blank spaces in that column.

I think that would make sense as an editorial commit.

Should the columns with dates have the tabular-nums styling?  It's kind of a mix of numbers and text. Some entries are ranges of years.

I am not sure that tabular-nums would make sense in that case. The whole point of tabular-nums is to use a monospace font and get numbers to line up, but I don't think that is particularly important when you are looking at years and date ranges.

tabular nums don't result in a different monospace font being used,
rather they're an option of the current font to render numbers in a
particular way. (In the same way that so-called lowercase numbers are an
option of a font.)

If a font doesn't support that option then the browser *might* try to
fake it with a monospace font, but it might also just do nothing.

As Weijia mentioned they're mostly used for tables in which *figures*
are organized and/or summed, but dates aren't really figures in that sense.
