property="dcterms:alternate" is used if a book title contains numbers or abbreviations (SEMoS 9.4.5.1).
property="dcterms:alternative" is used if a book has several titles (SEMoS 9.4.4.1).
I'm guessing this is for The Mystery of 31 New Inn? For this title, you should use property="dcterms:alternate"

This does seem to be a typo in the manual, it should be
`dcterms:alternative`, there is no `alternate` vocabulary element. I'll
update the manual and the corpus.
