Greetings,

"The Four Feathers" by A. E. W. Mason is on the wanted list. There are a number of scans on Internet Archive including reprints/reissues as recent as 21st century.

Is it reasonable to assume preference for the most recent scans prior to 1930? That might be June 1924

Thank you

Yes, latest PD scans possible. However if a post-PD reprint includes a
copyright date listed that is pre-1930, that is also acceptable.

Greetings,

Two other versions on Internet Archive might be possibilities.

This link is a Barnes & Noble Classics edition with added material copyright 2005. The copyright page clearly indicates the later content so it shouldn't be hard to eliminate from SE version.  Barnes & Noble 2005

This link is March 2017 but it shows copyright by Mason in 1901 and 1930. I did not find documentation for changes by the author at the time of more recent copyright. Perhaps he extended the copyright window because two film adaptations had already been produced.  March 2017

What do you think? Thank you

Any of those is fine. But don't complicate your life, you already found
a perfectly good pre-1930 edition.

Thank you. I'll go with the perfectly good June 1924 edition scans from my initial post:  scans

These scans have differences from PG's source. As example, here are the dedications from each.
Project Gutenberg:  pg_ded.png

Internet Archive:  ia_ded.png

My understanding is that the SE book should match the scans.

Repo has initial commit and is here:  repo

Project Gutenberg page is here: PG

Thanks again
