The only complete transcription I was able to find was a PDF hosted by a university library: https://digitalcommons.unl.edu/etas/84/

There is an ongoing Wikisource transcription which has better formatting, but they have only completed the frontmatter and the first two chapters: https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Index:Co-ge-we-a,_the_half_blood.djvu

I was able to use Docling to convert the PDF into a Markdown file. The result is usable as the basis of a project but will need very close proofreading. I am also copying in the portion that Wikisource transcribed since it is a little better quality. You can see what I have done so far in the repository.

This book has "The End" followed by a epigram. Do we still want to cut the words "The End" here?

I think it depends whether you think this is part of the same file or not. If it’s a full-page epigraph then I’d say we could cut the “The End”. If you think it should remain in place then I think I’d be tempted to leave it in place. Alternatively we could cut it, but add an <hr/> to indicate the thematic break between the end of the story and the epigraph.

I think of the three options, I’d be most tempted by the third. What was your opinion?

When there is stuttering, e.g. "Th-that t-there c-cuss m-mo-mocked my t-ta-talk," do we use non-breaking hyphens? I am not sure if that counts as being "stretched out by a speaker for prosodic effect".

We don’t, no. It’s strictly for stretched words, not stutters.
