The wanted list has this one under moderate-difficulty, and it's #30 in the BBC 2015 collection.

Sure! Since there are no chapter breaks this one will be all in one
file. See Father Goriot or The Path to Rome for examples. Defoe is old
enough where there may be a lot of old-timey spelling that
modernize-spelling won't catch. It would be helpful to put together a
list of any potential modernizations to share with us as you go along.

Send me a link to your repo when you get started. Thanks!

I'm still working on this. Here's my repository so far: https://github.com/colagrosso/daniel-defoe_moll-flanders

Thanks for the suggestion on modernize-spelling. I'll keep that in mind.

Thanks, everyone, for the support so far. I'm still working on this, and I'll ping the thread when I think it's ready for review. Any early feedback is of course welcome.

If you don't have a cover image yet, I thought this one was pretty fitting: https://www.artic.edu/artworks/94840/young-woman-at-an-open-half-door. Was considering producing this book myself at one point way back, so I'm glad someone's tackling it!

Sorry for the delay, but I'm wrapping this up.

Here's my proposal for a cover image (different from the one proposed earlier, but thanks for the suggestion):

Marriage A-la-Mode 2, The Tête à Tête, William Hogarth, circa 1743:

Hi Vince and Bruce,

Moll Flanders is ready for review. Here's the GitHub repo: https://github.com/colagrosso/daniel-defoe_moll-flanders

Here are notable links to the scans to spend extra attention on:
Alex: Regarding your note to look for "old-timey spelling that modernize-spelling won't catch" and put together a list of any potential modernizations, here's what I have. There weren't many in the scans.

Here are ones I noted, but didn't change. Open to feedback.

  • apoplex

    • Example: "in short, it put him in a fit something like an apoplex;"

  • e’en

    • Example: "you must e’en do as other conscientious mothers have done before you"

    • Occurs in several other publications

  • han’t

    • Example: “Now han’t you picked my pocket?”

    • Occurs in other publications

  • t’other

    • Example: "from t’other side of the way"

    • Occurs in other publications

  • divers

OK, everything looks good. Great work Mike, very good structure on the
table as well. I've gone ahead and released it, thanks!

Thanks, Bruce, for reviewing, Alex, for tweaking the half title, and special thanks to David (dajare, from Fife, UK) for going out of his way to improve the cover:
