Alex, we don’t have many instances of et al. in the corpus, but the ones we do have are fairly evenly split between having no tag at all, or having an abbr tag with Latin language, e.g. <abbr xml:lang=“la”> et al.</abbr>.
It is in M-W as an abbreviation, so I assume the abbreviation tag is correct. But since it is in M-W, I also assume we don’t need the language tag? If so they’ll all need updating one way or the other; I’ll do it this weekend.
