[Next project] The Place Called Dagon, by Herbert Gorman

I would to get start on my next project, The Place Called Dagon, by Herbert Gorman.


There is no obvious, public domain choice for the cover. I would like to have either a painting of a demon or of a pagan ceremony, but I couldn't find any that are appropriate. So for now I would use this landscape of Massachusetts (where the story takes place). I would welcome any suggestions, however.

OK, Emma will manage with Robin reviewing.

Surely there's some demon art out there. It seems like going from
demons/pagan rituals to a pretty generic landscape that could be
anywhere is a pretty disappointing downgrade.

I agree with you Alex. I would like to use this painting, but I'm yet to find PD proof. Another possibility is this painting by Goya. Neither is a perfect choice, but they are arguably better. Do you think this work?

The only issue I have with Witches' Sabbath is that the outfits are clearly not from the 1920s. I did find some other options:
