Since December 2020, users are not allowed to access Netflix services on any model of Nintendo Switch. This also caused a wide range of discussions in public. Here are some possible guesses as to why Netflix canceled Switch compatibility:
Netflix tries to get permission to launch the Netflix app on the switch. When it is permitted to allow cooperation, Netflix will be back in eShop again.
It is likely that the situation arose because Nintendo Switch requested something that Netflix finds difficult to provide, such as lowering certain user fees for accessing premium services. When Netflix doesn't promise to provide benefits like this, Nintendo Switch won't allow it to be installed on devices.
It is also possible that Netflix would think that cooperating with the Nintendo Switch brings it fewer benefits. Streaming movies and TV shows, for example, would be more enjoyable than using a small screen on a game console when everyone has tablets or laptops. So it canceled its cooperation with Nintendo.
Of course, the real reason is not clear unless both of them announce it to the public. But the fact is clear - Netflix is not supported on the Nintendo Switch at present. To watch Netflix on Switch, the only way is to download the videos offline and import them to the game console with the help of MovPilot Netflix Video Downloader. If you need to, go back to Part 2 and learn how it works again! I have been asking myself, "why isn't Netflix on switch after all these years?" And to be honest I couldn't tell you, but I do think that the majority of switch owners and the Nintendo company would definitely benefit and get more user if Netflix was added to the available apps. So I as an adamant Nintendo gamer and switch owner PLEASE GIVE US NETFLIX.

Personally, I gave up waiting for it. Netflix was a standard on Wii U and 3DS, and I used them there for many years, so I do find it surprising it's not on Switch. Especially with other streaming apps like Hulu, YouTube, and Crunchyroll being on Switch. Ended up just getting a Roku just to have streaming on my TV, my bedroom TV isn't a smart TV.

Though, I do use YouTube on Switch. Mostly for gaming related YouTube videos and live streams, or digital movies I have on my Movies Anywhere account (I have YouTube linked to it, I usually get digital movies with their DVD/Blu-Ray copy).

I watched Netflix on Wii for ages. Now I rely on roku. Though in hotels I watch YouTube on Switch because it's all I have. It would definitely be handy to have Netflix on Switch, but I've also given up waiting.

I guess one issue is... why just Netflix? It used to be almost the only thing, but now there are like 20 popular streaming services and 100 more medium ones. I can understand Nintendo not wanting to deal with all that.

And I'd rather do all of those things on devices that won't be interrupted constantly with notifications and phone calls. Perhaps I'm a little old-fashioned in that I mostly use separate devices for most of those functions.

And on topic, that would be a question for Netflix and the plethora of other streaming devices. I very much doubt that there's anything on Nintendo's end hindering it. It's almost shocking that there aren't any major streaming apps on Switch given its market dominance.

@LinkxPeach You do understand that just hosting a NetFlix app cost money $$$. NetFlix isn't about to just give a app out for free they will want something from Nintendo to use their App or Creating a App will cost Nintendo money to use it. It's not a free app if it comes from Netflix they will want some compensation for making a Nintendo app.

Best answer: You can, but we don't recommend it. Netflix is not available through the Nintendo eShop. The only way to stream this service on your console is by jailbreaking your Switch, but there are risks that this opens your gaming system up to.

With apps like CrunchyRoll being available on the Nintendo Switch, you'd think getting Netflix on the Switch would be intuitive. It would make sense for a portable entertainment system to connect you to Netflix. Unfortunately, the app is not currently available in the eShop and we're not sure if it will be. Although there is a way to get to Netflix, you cannot actually watch any shows with the Switch the way it is.

While there is a way to get to Netflix on your Nintendo Switch through the hidden web browser unfortunately once you select a show or movie to watch it will ask you to download a plugin. This is due to the hidden browser not being updated enough to run a video. The only way you'd be able to download the plugin is to jailbreak your system which would leave it open to being able to be hacked and Nintendo would no longer assist with any issues your console may have.

Netflix isn't your only option for streaming content! There are currently six streaming apps available for free download through the Nintendo eShop. The thing that's most similar is Hulu, a subscription for which gives you access to several shows and movies. For anime fans there's Crunchyroll and Funimation, both have free watching options as well as paid subscription plans.

Take your viewing back to your childhood and watch the very beginning of Pokmon with Pokmon TV! In addition to the hundreds of episodes throughout the animated series' time, there's also card and video game competitions available to view. There are even sing-alongs and other great content for kids. All of this is available for free.

Finally, there's also access to Twitch and YouTube to watch your favorite streamers! Twitch is largely known for video game streaming and is a great way to watch some gameplay before purchasing games or just to relax. YouTube has a wider variety of content creators from video game streaming, to music creation, educational videos, and more!

The portability of the Switch along with the great screen size makes for a great way to enjoy entertainment on the go. Although you can't watch Netflix, you can pull up any of the other streaming options available and set up one of the best stands for your console and stream anywhere with Wi-Fi from your portable Nintendo Switch! While there isn't any word of Netflix coming to Nintendo Switch's eShop yet, we'll be sure to update you here if that changes.

The ingenious modders at XDA Developers have successfully implemented a system that enables Nintendo Switch users to access certain apps that were previously unavailable. While Netflix has yet to officially release its app on the Nintendo Switch, these skilled modders have ingeniously installed the Android operating system on the console, opening the gateway for running a variety of apps that were previously off-limits.

Thanks to the remarkable efforts of these modders, the Nintendo Switch can now function like an Android device, allowing users to explore and enjoy a plethora of apps such as Chrome, Spotify, and Twitch. With this new-found versatility, Switch users can now enjoy an even more dynamic experience on their console, expanding their possibilities and unlocking new horizons of entertainment.

After successfully installing Android OS on your Nintendo Switch, your console will be act as an Android tablet. This means that you can access an impressive array of apps, including popular streaming services such as Netflix, Spotify, and Twitch, which can be downloaded directly from the Google Play Store.

Pazu Netflix Video Downloader is the best Netflix Video Downloader which is designed for downloading and converting Netflix movies and TV shows to MP4 and MKV without Netflix app. You will like the lossless output quality of Netflix videos which is up to 1080P so that you can enjoy most on any device. Upload the download Netflix MP4 videos to Plex and then you can watch them on any Nintendo Switch without any hassle.
Step 1. Open the official website of Plex Media Server. Press the Download button to download it on your computer. Then install it properly according to the prompts from the software.

The Nintendo Switch is a great games console, but unlike the PS5 and Xbox Series X, it doesn't have a wide range of streaming apps. While it does offer some media consumption services like Hulu and Crunchyroll, it's not possible to stream yourself on the Switch.

The Hulu app is free, though you will need a paid subscription to use the Disney-owned service, which lets you watch thousands of movies and TV shows. For an additional cost, you can add live TV and premium networks like HBO Max and Starz.

You can search for videos, browse your library, and interact with the community just like you can when browsing YouTube on a desktop. Unfortunately, one of the main things that you can't do is upload video, either through the YouTube app or Nintendo's video-sharing functionality.
