Hi!

How can I install non-interactively the example-models in rstan?

I would like to install rstan via scripts into our cluster and include the example-models with it, but it must be done non-interactively.

Thanks!

Best,
Sebastian

#!/bin/bash -e

MODELS_HOME
=`Rscript -e 'cat(system.file("include", package = "rstan"))'`
cd
"${MODELS_HOME}"
wget https
://github.com/stan-dev/example-models/archive/master.zip
unzip master
.zip
rm master
.zip
exit 0

Hi!

Hmm... you point to the current non-released branch. Not sure if this goes well with our production... are there plans to tag the archive once in a while? From what I saw is that the 1.0 tag is quite outdated.

Also: Will this approach stay stable in the future, I mean are there immediate plans to change locations and the like?

I guess, if I create a custom rstan binary package, then I could include the example-models straight in that package by placing it under inst, correct?

Thanks a lot.

Best,
Sebastian

The example-models repo is not going to have regular releases. I just released version 1 to have something to download but master presumably has more fixes and additions. We used to have all that under inst/ but CRAN made us take it out.
