One or more of us will be presenting Stan (via its R interfaces) at several conferences this summer:

Open Data Science Conference Boston May 20 -- 22
useR Stanford June 27
International Meeting of the Psychometric Society Asheville, NC July 11
Joint Statistical Meetings Chicago July 30
Applied and Agricultural Economics Association Boston August 1 -- 3

The content and format may differ from conference to conference, but the basic outline will be similar to the proposal we submitted for useR, which is attached. The early registration deadlines for the first two conferences are in the next week or two, so be sure to register soon if you are interested. The exact dates for the Stan workshops at Open Data Science and the Applied and Agricultural Economics Association have not yet been determined.

interesting, thanks.

Do you or others know of any summer schools/short courses teaching Stan this year?
preferably in Europe.

Best,
Chris

Evidently, Sebastian is teaching one at ISBA

Mike does Stan workshops in Europe periodically, but I don't know what is coming up.

I'll be doing short courses:

22 April: Northeast Statistics Symposium at Yale (New Haven, CT), April 22,
half day
- with Krzysztof Sakrejda

Sep/Oct: Helsinki
length TBD
- organized by Aki Vehtari

Sep/Oct Paris (focused on PK/PD for pharmacometrics)
2-3 days
- organized by Julie Bertrand & France Mentre

and I'll be at these conferences, but I'll be either giving a regular
talk or lurking:

22-23 June: ADMB (Seattle)

right after that: stat ecology Seattle

I'll create a new web page with a schedule so we have a single
place to point people to Stan events going forward. Anyone else
have anything they want me to add to our schedule?

And I’m giving a Bayes/Stan short course on 21 Apr at Google (in case there are any Google employees on this users list).

I see that you are offering the Bayesian Inference with Stan for Pharmacometrics Workshop in Paris in September. Do you have any plans to offer the same or a relatively similar course in the US anytime soon? I know it’s not on the Events page on the website, but was wondering if you’re unofficially thinking about it. Thanks.

We’re always working on arranging new workshops across the globe,
but we announce them as soon as they have been confirmed.  So stay
tuned!

Bill Gillespie's doing a tutorial on Stan and PK/PD
at AcOP in October. I can recommend it having talked
to Bill and seen the course notes---he's also had a
fair bit of practice doing these.

And Sebastian Weber's doing an online webinar.

Or if you have a suggestion for how to raise an audience
and handle local logistics, we're all ears. At
the point we can rustle up 20--30 paying customers,
we'll travel to just about anywhere.

Daniel, Michael, and I will all be back in NY
around November, so we might think about doing something
November or December in NYC, but don't have plans yet.
