Error when installing new version of stan

Hi! Hope you have a great holiday.

Maybe this is a silly question because I haven't tried to install stan for long... But today after I used the command-line access to get the newest version

git clone https://code.google.com/p/stan/

I cannot successfully make the library using the command

make bin/libstan.a

 (I am supposed to make the library and the model parser and code generator before proceeding to compile models, right?)

the error is as follows:

Without making the library, I cannot run the basic model with "make src/models/basic_estimators/bernoulli" and the error is very long...

Could you help me figure out what's wrong with the installation. Thank you very much.

It is just that -pedantic was added to the makefile.  I push a change to leave that out.  Please do 'git pull' to get that change, you should be fine to go.

btw, what do you mean by "-pedantic"?

It is a compiler flag: for example, it is in the output you have posted.

g++ -I src -I lib/eigen_3.1.2 -I lib/boost_1.52.0 -O3 -Wall -Wextra -pedantic -DBOOST_RESULT_OF_USE_TR1 -DBOOST_NO_DECLTYPE -Wno-unused-function   -c -o bin/stan/agrad/agrad.o src/stan/agrad/agrad.cpp
