We never heard back from Stephanie about fonts or color,
so I assume we're on our own at this point.

I suggest we just go with the same bold Helvetica font
for "Stan" that we use on the web page.

I also realized the blue she used was NOT Columbia's
blue, so I'm OK just going with that. Let's talk
at a meeting about it.

I don't think we need to wait until Stan 3 --- no idea
when that'll happen --- it's certainly not on the short-term
horizon. I was hoping we could get black-box VB, MLE, and
RHMC in before we went to Stan 3, but all of those projects
are held up for one reason or another (and they're all held
up by the fact that we still haven't debugged higher-order
autodiff fully).

I can mock up a few color palettes (probably not by
tomorrow’s meeting, however) for comparisons if
people have suggestions of base hues.

Also, when is tomorrow’s meeting?

It's very easy to change color. I use an online app called pixlr
that's great --- it's like a baby photoshop on the web. It has
the magic wand, so you can select the colors, then change the huge
without changing the contrast.

When you guys decide on colors I can incorporate them into the color scheme for shinyStan. Not a big deal, but, you know, branding and whatnot.

Would you like to move ShinyStan to the stan-dev repo?

Also, would you like us to add you as one of the Stan
core developers? It looks like Andrew wants to lean
pretty heavily on ShinyStan going forward!

Also, I didn't mean to imply the two issues were related!

We would like to keep all of our "official" code on
stan-dev. But the quotes are because we don't even have
a policy for what's an official part of Stan itself :-)

Also I’m looking forward to being able to have Stan function libraries; that will make it a lot easier to keep track of “unofficial” code that gets passed around.

Some comments, i.e. yeses, below:

Sure, that would be great. Because of the name change (SHINYstan to shinyStan) the new version I've been working on isn't in the jgabry/SHINYstan repository but rather at shinyStan/shinyStan. The new one is the one we should move to stan-dev. The new version is basically ready to go (I'm just working on some tests) and I was thinking that the presentation at the nyhackR meetup on Wednesday would be a good time to make the new version public (well it's public already I suppose, but not annouced).

I would be honored. You guys have really done an amazing job and Stan is such an important contribution to statistics and every other field that relies on statistics. Working on shinyStan is by far the most enjoyable work I've been doing and I'd love to work with you in whatever capacity helps Stan moving forward.

Great. I'll add you to the web page and manual.

Do you have a link you'd like me to use for you?
I could always link your band! I need a new link
for me, too --- we sold our web domain colloquial.com.

P.S. I'm in Australia until May 1, so my e-mail's
a bit erratic time-wise (we're 16 hours ahead).

For now I don't have a good link, but when I do (and I probably should) I'll let you know.
