If we all have electricity and internet tomorrow, should we try to
have a meeting? Or we could postpone it to later this week.

Gplus at 12:30 would work for me.

Works for me.

I'm betting against the subways being reopened
given that they're not even hinting at a reopen
time now.

Works for me too. I knew there was a reason I moved to
California—apparently there have been only two tropical storms in the
last century.

Yah, good point. California has no risk of natural disasters. And, don't forget, the east coast doesn't just have hurricanes. We also have great white sharks!

I'm pretty sure California has sharks too. Also earthquakes, droughts,
and mudslides. And a wide variety of poisonous snakes. And mountain
lions, pumas, cougars, and catamounts (http://xkcd.com/999/). And, in
the Bay Area, an astonishingly high cost of living—what is this, New
York?

But no power grid-crippling hurricanes! Gross mismanagement, yes, but
hurricanes, no.

Gross-mismanagement? Hardly! The rolling black/brown-out is a California tradition. Just like stealing water, poorly designed referendum systems, and celebrity run amok.

In all seriousness, hope everyone and everyone's stuff weathered the
storm ok. Are we meeting today?

Sorry, been without power and haven't had any phone service at my apartment. Hope I didn't miss anything!
