I've been using SmartShow Standard and have been really impressed with its ease of use, particularly with the choice of 20 or so templates available to start off a new project. Brilliant.
This prompted me to splash out and pay for the SmartShow3D upgraded version to get more features.
You imply that such a wizard is more aimed at novices. I totally disagree because an experienced user could start off with one of the wizard templates, then go into it and tweak it in an infinite number of ways to achieve a result to exactly match their needs.
That is exactly what I was assuming I would be able to do when I clicked on "Upgrade".
I definitely feel that I have been misled in the purchase in that respect.
The most confusing thing of all is that your last comment is trying to justify not having a wizard in SmartSHOW 3D, yet stating that you are going to put one in!!!!
Hopefully when it does reappear, there will be as many templates as in SmartSHOW, and they will be free, unlike the professionally designed ones which you currently offer for purchase.
That was the point of my original comment.
I started with the basic Smartshow (which has the 3 options I mentioned earlier), and because I liked the program I decided to buy the upgrade, Smartshow 3D, only to discover that it only has the 2 options!
There were about 20 full slideshow templates in Smartshow, which meant that you could create a good-looking show in no time at all.
Hi, it depends on the type of template you use.
If you use one of the "Slideshow in 5 minutes" themes from the software wizard, you just add your folder with pictures, and they are all inserted automatically.

I bought the memorial template for my Dad's celebration of life that in 2 days.
i extracted the zip file, installed the template.exe and use the password that provided on the email.
it brought me to smartshow 3D box , it said "add new slideshow template"
At the bottom said "file are not found"
There is empty white box at the bottom of the sentence "flles are not found" but i can entry anything there because the box is highlighted and i couldn't click on install button too.

Usually, this message "file are not found" means that the templates are not extracted from the archive properly and you're running the exe right from the zip folder. Here's what you need to do:
I'm afraid you can only use the new templates as Collages, one at a time. When the designers create such template packs, their aim is to give the user as much flexibility as possible, so that each project looks unique. You can choose which photos to use for a certain collage, where exactly to put this collage, etc. Many of the designer templates won't look that great with random photos, just because of the color scheme or the shape of frames and things like that. That's why the user's control is vital if you want to get a gorgeous slideshow in the end.
Yes you are right. The template designers designed the templates for flexibility. But that has made more complicated for ordinary and novice users for those who wish to produce a slideshow fairly quickly.
I have been playing with the templates. While I agree that they are nice but becomes quite complicated and difficult specially when there is no "Undo" option with this product. I have been making changes to my project to see how it looks like. However I can not undo a change in the middle of the slideshow project.

Rather than a traditional slideshow with still images, I decided to take a chance with SmartShow 3D and was able to create a 30-minute long video using still images to document his life. Despite my lack of tech-savviness, SmartShow 3D was easy to use and after only a few hours using it, I was customizing the included templates and creating my own, with a good understanding of how the user interface works. Overall, I am very satisfied with SmartShow 3D. I'll recommend it to others and will use it again!
SmartShow 3D was extremely easy to use. I was able to create a 30-minute video using my own photos, with built-in animation templates. After using it for about two hours, I realized how easy it was to customize every second of the video and make it look exactly as I wanted. The built-in animation templates are great and the final product (exported video in one of many file formats) was easy to access.
I love the simplicity of SmartShow for creating a slideshow from scratch, but I also love the built-in templates that come with the program because (unlike software I've used in the past), SmartShow templates allow me to make changes. I honestly feel it's their templates that set them apart from everyone else!
I'd like to see them add a few more editing features although it's perfectly suited as is for creating fantastic photo-stories with your slideshows! But I'd say just keep adding more and more templates, animations and transitions with each new version!
The rM has a number of good, generic templates that work well for general things. The fact that they build in so many templates suggests rM understands different templates work better for different things.
rM has known for some time that custom templates are an in-demand feature. It's the first thing people try fixing after getting an rM tablet.
