[Beta soon] Mintrix – a modern management panel for Ministra (Stalker) middleware

Hi everyone,

If you run a Ministra (Stalker) portal, you know the stock admin panel wasn't built for how operators work today. We've been building Mintrix, a modern control panel that sits on top of Ministra through its REST API. It doesn't replace or modify your middleware.

Mintrix is available as a complete package: we install Ministra, Flussonic and Mintrix for you, on one server or on separate servers, fully connected and ready to use.

We're now opening a beta and looking for a few operators to try it in real conditions.


WHAT IT DOES TODAY

Live Ministra connection monitoring
- Checks your Ministra API every minute: reachability, credentials, and Ministra's own database health
- Tells you why it's down: unreachable, wrong credentials, API error or slow response
- No false alarms: only reports "down" after repeated failures
- "Test connection" button to verify new credentials before saving

Built for reseller businesses
- Roles: Admin, Reseller, Sub-reseller, Live Master, Video Master
- User groups and a credit balance per reseller

Safe by default
- API passwords encrypted at rest and never sent back to the browser
- Automated database backups (daily or weekly) with retention and one-click download

Modern interface
- Light/dark mode, colour themes, RTL layout, translatable interface


COMPLETE PACKAGE INSTALLATION

Mintrix comes as a complete package: we install and connect the whole platform for you, ready to use.

- Mintrix: the management panel on top, already connected to Ministra
- Ministra (Stalker) middleware: portal, subscribers and set-top boxes
- Flussonic Media Server: live TV and VOD streaming (OPTIONAL)

Ministra and Mintrix on a single server. Ideal for getting started, smaller subscriber bases and test environments.

Separated servers
Ministra and Mintrix on one server. It can also be split further, with each system on its own server.

hOW IT WORKS:
- Clean installation of each system on your remote Linux server(s)
- Enable and secure the Ministra REST API and connect Mintrix to it
 
What you provide:
- One or more remote Linux servers (dedicated or VPS) with for yourr installation.
 
HOW IT CONNECTS TO MINISTRA

Mintrix talks to Ministra only through Ministra's official REST API (v1), over HTTP with the API login you define. That means:
- No changes to your Ministra code or database
- No direct database access from Mintrix
- Mintrix can run on the same server as Ministra or on a separate one; it only needs to reach Ministra's web port
- Credentials are stored encrypted in Mintrix, and you can rotate them from the settings screen at any time

An optional Mintrix heartbeat module for Ministra adds deeper health checks (for example, Ministra's own database status). Without it, Mintrix falls back to a standard API call and still monitors reachability and credentials.


ALREADY HAVE MINISTRA? INSTALL MINTRIX ON ITS OWN

Mintrix ships as a Docker Compose stack: web panel, API, background worker, scheduler, MySQL, Redis and Nginx, all in containers. There's nothing to install on the host except Docker.

1. Enable the REST API on your Ministra server
   Already done for you with the package installation. If you have an existing Ministra, set this in custom.ini:
     enable_api = true
     api_auth_login = <your API user>
     api_auth_password = <a strong password>

2. Install Mintrix
   On any Linux server with Docker and Docker Compose, start the Mintrix stack with a single "docker compose up -d". We provide the files and a step-by-step guide to beta users.

3. Connect it to Ministra
   Log in to Mintrix, open System Settings > Ministra and enter:
     - your Ministra server address (for example http://your-portal:88/)
     - the API user and password from step 1
   Click "Test connection", switch Ministra on and save. The connection status then shows live in the sidebar.

Tip for Docker users: if Ministra also runs in Docker on the same machine, don't use "localhost" as the address. Inside a container, localhost means the container itself. Use the server's IP or hostname, or put both stacks on a shared Docker network. We'll help you with this during onboarding.


COMING NEXT

Content management for TV and VOD
- Live TV: manage channels, genres, logos and channel ordering, and link each channel to its EPG
- VOD: manage movies and series, with categories, posters and descriptions
- Bundle TV channels and VOD into service packages and tariff plans

Subscriber and billing tools
- Subscriber and tariff sync with Ministra
- Payments, invoices and subscription logs

Operations
- EPG management
- Reseller activity logs and license key management

Migration
- Migration tool of your current Ministra system to new system.

Having your own Linux server ready is perfect. Good to know as well: the whole solution can be installed entirely by you. Ministra, Mintrix and optionally Flussonic can all be set up on your own server without needing us.
