Hi, neighbors,

While so many of us are pleased to see warmer temperatures, it’s never too early to think about staying warm next winter and lowering heating costs.

That’s why the St. Albans Climate & Energy Committee is excited to share that we will once again be partnering with WindowDressers to host a Community Build.

🪟 WindowDressers is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that works with communities to make custom-built insulating window inserts to help battle drafty and leaky windows for both families and businesses. And as you know, Vermont has a lot of these drafty windows...

This will be the fourth annual St. Albans/Northwest Vermont build. Last year we custom-built 109 inserts, helping 17 households reduce heating costs and stay warmer during the winter. The build brought together community members and volunteers from all walks of life, and it made such an important impact on the area!

This year, we hope to help even more people keep warm! This year’s goal is to build 250 inserts. We are actively recruiting both customers and volunteers.

Want to learn more?
  • Check out the WindowDressers website.
  • Learn more about pricing, including WindowDressers’ special rate program, and place orders for inserts here. Vermonters may be eligible for a $100 rebate through Efficiency Vermont, too!
  • Want to volunteer or know someone who does, let us know here. (More info will be shared closer to the build this fall.)
  • Want to chat with a real live human? Reach out to Marlena Valenta at mval...@nrpcvt.com
This is a great opportunity and we know lots of folks in the community could benefit. So please, spread the word!

📒 Next meeting: 6pm Tuesday, May 19th, St. Albans City Hall - All are welcome to attend the next public meeting, and virtual options are available. An agenda will be on the City website.

That's all for now, everybody! Take care.

Sincerely,
The St. Albans Climate & Energy Committee
