AGM, Awards & Hat mini tourney

Hey All,

Just a quick reminder that we have our Club AGM coming up on Sat 3rd September.

In fact we have an action packed day planned for you all this year!

10 - 3 we have a mini hat tournament (FREE)

5 - 9 we have AGM, dinner (FREE) & awards ceremony

9 - late we have a night out in St Albans on the cards for the over 18 amongst us!

More on the Hat Tournament and Awards ceremony later, now a quick word about the AGM.

We run as a club (almost 6 years) because we have a Committee that sort out all the things in the background, from organising training sessions, to ordering kit, entering tournaments and having a laugh as well (this year it was a trampoline park and a fancy candlelit dinner). We're all volunteers who give up a bit of our time in order to make sure that you and we can all play some ultimate here in St Albans and now we need you!

We need to fill 3 key positions on the Committee every year to keep the club running. These have to be held by different people and this year all 3 are standing down from their roles (although may run in other roles):

President

Secretary

Treasurer

Then there are a few more roles that make everyone's lives easier and better (but we can only fill them once we have the 3 above sorted!). You can hold more than one of these roles but we much prefer to spread the joy!

Social Secretary

Stash Master

Tournament Coordinator

Training Coordinator

Safeguarding Officer

Men's Captain

Women's Captain

Mixed Captain

What we need from you is:

- To work hard on fulfilling your duties (more on that in the coming days!)

- Attend 1 exec meeting per month

What you get in return:

- A chance to shape the club how you'd like it to be

- Some great experience and great friendships

- Free membership to the club for the year

- 2 exec days / evenings on the club (in the past: BBQ, Beach Games, Trampoline Park, Restaurant)

- Free trainings if you run the session

and this year in particular

- A chance to get involved in designing and ordering our first ever discs

- A chance to look at how we allocated some of the funds we have raised over the last few years.

You are very welcome to send out a manifesto to the club, in the past these have even included amazing videos (see the 2014 presidential race: https://www.facebook.com/amy.rogers.908132/videos/10154711967160571/)

You can also nominate yourself / be nominated at the AGM in person if you're a last minute decision kind of person but we all appreciate a heads up to know if anyone is even thinking about it!
