This is driving me nuts....I want to set up Spotify on my SmartTV. When I try, it asks me for my username and password. Since I login to Spotify through Facebook, I can't give the SmartTV a username and password.

I found on Spotify that my account is not only linked to my Facebook account, but I've been given a 10 digit number as a username. However, when I try to reset the password for that "Spotify (ten digit #) Username" it asks for my current password. Obviously I don't have it because if I did, I wouldn't need to reset it. So I'm stuck.

I already have a premium account so I don't want to close the spotify account, lose all my playlists, etc. I can't believe there isn't a way to log into Spotify without using my Facebook account. That's just wierd!

How do I set up Spotify on my SmartTV if I don't have a password for my "Spotify (ten digit #) username" and I can't use my Facebook account to set it up on the SmartTV because it requires a Spotify username and Spotify password, not a facebook account???

1) Go to the link _url=/uk/account/set-device-password/
2) On the page that the link takes you to, log into Spotify using your Facebook log in details
3) You will be taken to your Spotify subscription page. Look at the very top right hand corner of the page. You will see a Spotify account number. It is a ten digit number. Make a note of this, as it will be your Device Spotify log in username.
4) Next scroll to the bottom of the page and create a password. Make a note of this, it will be your Device Spotify password.
5) Use the username and password to log into your Spotify/Device account.
6) Enjoy playing and listening

Another thing is I cannot login through the Shopify app because of the same problem but this time it gets to the do you want to continue page, I click continue then it just reloads that page. The only way I am able to log on to Shopify is via Google on my phone. I tried attaching videos but they where "exceeding the maximum file size "

I take it the above troubleshooting steps did not work for you? I'll be honest I haven't come across this issue before with external logins!

As you are using an external login it might be worth deactivating the Facebook login via your login workaround with Google Chrome that you mentioned - and if you have the username and password handy. Once deactivated you can try logging in normally again. Check out our help doc here on how you can disable this external login.

Another thing to check is that you have granted the necessary permissions to the external login service. Some login services, such as Google or Facebook, require that you grant certain permissions such as "email address" or "manage pages" before you can use them to log in to Shopify. Double-check that you have granted these permissions on the Facebook side of things.

However, if you are uncomfortable with removing it and wish to keep this method of logging in, then the next best step here would be to create a support request with our live support here at this link. As much as I would love to dig deeper into this for you, we do not have access to accounts/stores via the public forums here ourselves. It would be best to get this checked out by support so that they can troubleshoot this or offer a workaround.

Rest assured I will do my best to assist you with this! It's difficult to say exactly why you're unable to login without more information. If you could send us some screenshots of what you're seeing on your end, that would be really helpful. With that being said, in the meantime you can try the following troubleshooting steps below;

If the issue persists, try using a different browser as another browser may have a better time logging you in. We recommend using Google Chrome on your desktop as it works best with Shopify and ensuring it is up-to-date as well, see here.

And when I try to login on via desktop it just keeps trying to redirect me to login via Facebook but I doesn't even get to that page just keeps trying to load it up and the URL changes for a second then reverts back to the "redirecting to Facebook" page.

Important note if you play other Niantic games: Account linking and unlinking takes effect across all Niantic products. Unlinking a login provider that is used for multiple Niantic games will unlink the login provider for all of those games. For example: if you're unlinking a Google account from your Pokmon GO account, you will no longer be able to log into any other Niantic game with Google.

Follow the prompts to link your account. Once your account is linked, you can use that login provider to sign into your Pokmon GO account. If you receive an error message when attempting to link a login provider to your account, it is often because that account is already linked to another Pokmon GO account.

You may update your Google, Apple, Facebook login providers at any time. To do so, unlink the account you no longer want, and re-link your desired account. Keep in mind that to do so, you will need to have a secondary login linked from one of these login providers, as you are unable to unlink all login methods from your account at one time.

Once, you have successfully added a verified business account. Return to the App Dashboard or from the side menu, click on Review>Data handling questions. It will redirect you to data handling questions where you need to answer questions about data handling.
