Hello all,
It's not a Friends of the Earth project, but I thought you might find this roadshow on a community energy investment scheme in Stafford this coming Thursday of interest.
Details about the event and information about the project are below.

Gen Community a social enterprise which develops low carbon projects for social benefit has launched a community share offer to fund a solar schools project across Staffordshire. This initiative follows on from their first project, the Newport Solar Share Offer. Gen Community offer investing members a fair financial return with social and environmental impacts.
Prospective members are invited to review the share offer, which offers a projected 6.9% IRR, index linked return. The project was granted Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) status on 7th January 2014, enabling eligible investors to claim 30% of investment against their income tax. The projected share return with EIS relief is a 10.48% IRR.

The project, when fully funded, will deploy solar PV systems on 25 schools and significantly reduce the school's energy bills, forecasted over £90,000 per annum. The project will also fund a sustainability education tool, incorporated into the school’s curriculum which will benefit the lives of over 15,000 school children across Staffordshire.
The project is being developed through a collaboration of Gen Community with Southern Staffordshire Community Energy, a Staffordshire based community energy group, who will be assisting in the deployment of the community fund which the project will generate.
