Work involves supporting high-volume Retail & Hospitality systems (multi-property environment)
2. Hands-on administration of SQL Server 2016–2022
3. Strong query tuning, indexing, and performance optimization experience
4. Database maintenance: DBCC checks, index rebuilds, and cleanup strategies
5. Manage backup/restore, HA/DR, and failover readiness
6. Monitor database health: slow queries, blocking, deadlocks
7. Support SQL Agent jobs, SSIS/ETL schedules, and data pipelines
8. Experience with large transactional databases (item-level retail or hospitality data)
9. Troubleshoot data hygiene issues: duplicate SKUs, orphaned records, inventory mismatches
10. Understanding of retail operations data: inventory, POs, receiving, price books, POS structures
11. Work with integrations: APIs, batch imports, file-based ingestion, system sync issues
12. Ability to explain data issues to non-technical teams and translate root cause to business impact
13. Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Retail leadership, Store managers, and IT
14. Tools: SSMS, SQL Profiler/Extended Events, RedGate or SolarWinds, Power BI/Tableau
15. Strong business acumen required — not just a backend DBA; understands how bad data impacts revenue--
