Role: Network Operations
Location: New Jersey (Hybrid)
Duration: Long Term Contract
Design and Integrate monitoring\ alerting solutions within SolarWinds with ServiceNow integration.
This position involves traveling 50% of the time throughout the NJ State. Candidates must have their own vehicle and will be reimbursed for mileage.
Context:
· The Network Operations Center (NOC) is staffed 7x24 and is tasked with Monitoring, Awareness and Notifications of all Technical infrastructure (Network\ Wi-Fi\ Compute\ Application-Services) availability, events and anomalies. Consequently, the NOC requires a tool development resource to maintain, update and create tools, alerting mechanisms, dashboards and reports in support of the NOCs mission.
· System administration as it relates to Tool development, configuration, customization, and training for SolarWinds (UCTeam). Primary areas of expertise included:
o System administration and configuration of NPM, NTA, NCM,
o IPAM to manage and monitor network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. in support of the technology infrastructure specific to the support role of the NOC.
o Configuration Management Repository
· This is an Individual Contributor role; must be fully competent to work under general direction. knowledge of business or function for which application is designed (Networks, Network Monitoring, Network Metrics, etc.). Integration with ServiceNow and other toolsets preferred.
Preferred skills:
· 3+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise Monitoring and Observability platforms, including implementation, customization, and operational support.
· Subject Matter Expert (SME) in SolarWinds Monitoring Solutions (required), including core components, platform architecture, alerting, reporting, and performance optimization.
· Strong hands-on experience integrating and supporting monitoring tools, including:
o Solar Winds
o Service Now (event, incident, and workflow integrations)
· Experience with advanced monitoring and correlation platforms such as Datadog and Big Panda (highly desirable).
· Experience in configuring and managing:
o Monitoring profiles
o Polling policies
o Thresholds and alert conditions
· Platform administration experience supporting large-scale, enterprise monitoring environments, ensuring stability, scalability, and performance.
Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field from an accredited college 4 to 6 years’ experience directly related to AIOps, IT automation engineering, monitoring engineering, and management of infrastructure.
