Job Summary
The Infrastructure Operations Manager is responsible for leading and managing enterprise infrastructure operations to ensure high availability, performance, security, and scalability of critical systems. This role requires deep technical expertise with hands - on experience in data center operations, particularly in VMware virtualization and networking technologies, along with strong leadership and operational excellence in a regulated financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end infrastructure operations covering data centers, compute, storage, virtualization, and network platforms.
Manage and optimize VMware environments (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter) to ensure stability, capacity planning, and performance.
Oversee network operations including LAN, WAN, firewalls, load balancers, and related technologies.
Ensure 24x7 availability of mission-critical systems through proactive monitoring, incident management, and problem resolution.
Define and enforce operational processes, SLAs, and KPIs aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for major incidents and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with application, security, cloud, and architecture teams to support business initiatives and technology transformations.
Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service providers to ensure service quality and cost efficiency.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and audit requirements common to financial services (e.g., SOC, ISO, internal audits).
Mentor and manage infrastructure operations teams, including performance management and skills development.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 10+ years of experience in infrastructure and data center operations, with at least several years in a leadership or managerial role.
Strong hands-on technical experience with VMware virtualization technologies.
Solid expertise in enterprise networking (routing, switching, firewalls, load balancing).
Proven experience managing large-scale, highly available data center environments.
Strong understanding of ITIL-based operations, incident, change, and problem management.
Experience working in regulated environments, preferably financial services.
Preferred Skills
Exposure to hybrid infrastructure and cloud integration.
Experience with automation and monitoring tools.
Relevant certifications (VMware, networking, ITIL) are a plus.
