Title: QA Automation
Architect-Playwright & Typescript- Commercial P&C Insurance
Experience: 15+
Rate : Max $60 - 65 / hr on C2C
Location: Cleveland,
OH(Onsite 3 days)
Duration: Long term
About the Role
We are seeking an Automation
Architect with combination of Playwright automation experience and API-Led
automation and commercial P&C insurance domain knowledge, preferably Duck
Creek platform expertise, and hands-on experience with API-led test automation
strategies. This role is the central figure in a high-stakes migration from
Duck Creek Express 2.0 (Agent Portal) to Duck Creek Express 3.0, owning not
just requirements and analysis, but the end-to-end testing program — with a
mandate to build and drive an API-first automation framework that validates the
migration with speed, repeatability, and precision.
This is not a traditional
automation role with testing responsibilities appended. The candidate must be
capable of translating the API automation expertise along with Playwright
automation and convert that fluency into an automation strategy that survives
the project and scales into production regression.
Integration & API
Ecosystem Analysis
- Analyze
and document all third-party integrations connected to the Express 2.0
implementation — including billing systems, document generation platforms,
rating bureaus, and agent-facing portals — and assess their compatibility
and re-integration requirements in Express 3.0
- Validate
integration touchpoints through API contract testing, confirming that
upstream and downstream systems behave as expected against the Express 3.0
API layer
- Identify
breaking changes in the Express 3.0 API relative to Express 2.0 and work
with integration owners to remediate or adapter-pattern those changes
before go-live
- Support
the design of event-driven or webhook-based integration patterns where
Express 3.0 introduces new architectural options not available in Express
2.0
Required Qualifications
API-Led Testing &
Automation
- Demonstrated
experience designing and executing an API-led test automation strategy on
an insurance platform implementation or migration — not just contributing
to one
- Proficiency
with at least one API testing framework or toolset: Postman/Newman, Karate
DSL, RestAssured, or equivalent
- Experience
integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps,
GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar)
- Ability
to design data-driven, parameterized test frameworks that scale across
LOBs, states, and transaction types without exponential manual effort
- Experience
with parallel/comparative testing methodologies: running equivalent
transactions across two platform versions and programmatically comparing
outputs
- Comfort
working with JSON/XML payloads, REST response validation, and schema
assertion tooling
P&C Insurance Domain
- 2+
years of commercial P&C insurance experience with some working
knowledge of at least three lines: BOP, General Liability, Commercial
Auto, Workers' Compensation, Inland Marine, Commercial Property,
Umbrella/Excess
Good understanding of the
commercial policy lifecycle across all transaction types
