Job Summary:
The ETL and Data Testing Lead is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of data across enterprise systems. This role involves leading data validation, reconciliation, and testing efforts for data pipelines, migrations, and transformations. The individual will collaborate closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to define data requirements, identify data quality issues, and ensure compliance with organizational data governance and security standards. The role also includes leadership responsibilities in coordinating onsite and offshore teams, driving testing strategies, and supporting automation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks across structured and unstructured data sources to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
Develop, design, and execute detailed test cases and scripts for data testing, including functional, regression, integration, and transformation testing.
Collaborate with data engineers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document data requirements and expected outcomes.
Identify data anomalies, inconsistencies, and gaps through systematic analysis, and work with relevant teams to investigate and resolve issues.
Participate actively in data migration and transformation testing to ensure data integrity during system upgrades, conversions, and platform changes.
Document test scenarios, execution results, defects, and root cause analyses; provide detailed reports for stakeholders and audit requirements.
Ensure adherence to data governance frameworks, data quality standards, and security compliance policies across all testing activities.
Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives in data testing processes, including the implementation of automation frameworks and tools.
Coordinate between onsite and offshore teams, provide clear guidance, resolve queries, and ensure alignment on testing objectives and timelines.
Manage customer interactions, provide regular status updates, and communicate risks, issues, and progress effectively to stakeholders.
Required Skills and Experience:
Strong understanding of data testing principles, including data validation, reconciliation, and data quality assurance techniques.
Extensive experience in SQL and querying across multiple database platforms.
Proven experience in ETL testing, data migration, and data transformation validation.
Hands-on experience in test case design, test execution, defect tracking, and test management processes.
Familiarity with data governance frameworks and data security compliance standards.
Proficiency in working with databases such as SAP S/4 HANA, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and similar platforms.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with strong attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to create clear documentation and present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience working in onsite-offshore delivery models, including coordination, mentoring, and resolving offshore team queries.
Demonstrated experience in customer management, stakeholder engagement, and status reporting.
Preferred Qualifications:
10 to 12 years of Experience with data testing automation tools and frameworks.
Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python for data validation and automation.
Exposure to cloud data platforms and modern data architectures.
Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and participation in iterative delivery models.
