Location: Mountain View CA or San Diego ( 3 days Hybrid)

Duration: Long Term Contract

Job Description:   

We are seeking an experienced Python Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate must be an expert in Python programming, with strong skills in backend development and modern data streaming technologies. Candidates who also have Java experience should be open to answering theoretical questions on Java and demonstrating Python coding skills during the interview process.

This role offers the opportunity to work on high-performance systems, streaming data pipelines, and modern cloud-native applications.

 

 Must-Have Skills

• Must be an expert in Python programming
  
• Experience in data streaming technologies, especially:
  
• Apache Kafka
  
• Palantir Foundry or Apache Spark
  
• Solid understanding of backend architectures and distributed systems
  
• Knowledge of building APIs and microservices
  
• Familiarity with AI/Machine Learning basics, particularly:
  
• Fundamentals of model training
  
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
  
• For candidates with Java experience: must be open to answering theoretical Java questions and demonstrating Python coding during interviews
  

Nice-to-Have / Plus Skills

• Experience with:
  
• Java development
  
• Apache Flink
  
• Knowledge of Wavefront integration for metrics and observability
  
• Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
