Configuration Main Section of installation

Before asking the question, I'd like to give a huge thanks to Joe Kaiser who helped fill in a lot of gaps in my knowledge and got me up and running the other day.
I'm trying to configure some things in the main section of the install, things like root password, DNS servers, timezone. I've done it successfully with these sort of commands:
stack set host attr appliance_name attr=Kickstart_PrivateRootPassword value=some_long_string
stack set host attr appliance_name attr=Kickstart_Timezone value="--utc GMT"
My question is: Is this the right way to go about this?
