if you are just trying to load an asset pack (that u already have downloaded before)
you can bypass the launcher and copy the vaultcache folder contents for that pack into your project in explorer and then when you open the project the assets will be there.

I only open the launcher to add new asset packs from the marketplace or learning portal
If I have downloaded it before I never need to connect to get an asset pack.
I start UE from the UEeditor executable.
Its faster.
you can also open projects faster by double clicking or making a shortcut to them directly
on projects that are slow to load, you can double click open a second project thats smaller and work while the other loads.

I am trying to get my lvl 51 Zerker to optimal damage levels. I stupidly sold the best launcher I had for one which on paper seemed better but in reality made my pimpernel explosions shoot about 20 feet up, thus making the combo almost useless.

I have found that the highest, most consistent damage is when the launcher shoots slow projectiles and has a mag size of at least 5. The fast one make the pimperness projectiles go a lot further up before flowering.

That will only allow you to download the patch without getting stuck. Using the primary server is always going to be slower. Expect it to hover around 200 KB/s to 1 MB/s if you're in NA, half that if you're not.

Did what correctly? I just started the launcher, and its supposed to work without me trying some weird methods to make the download work... ? ok i wanted to give guild wars 2 a try again, as a returning player i guess i wont...

Healix's screenshots show everything.

- Close GW2 launcher.
- Run Windows cmd prompt as administrator.
- Look up the current IP addresses of the primary server from the cmd prompt.
- Edit the Windows hosts file using notepad from the cmd prompt.
- Enter one of the current IP addresses of the primary server into the hosts file with assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com.
- Save and close notepad.
- Launch GW2.

If you get a message from the launcher about "Cannot connect, retrying..", the chances are high that you entered a bad IP.

This worked out perfectly for me. Thanks Healix. I am a returning player and was like why the hell is the launcher crashing to zero kb/s when I have 1GB Google Fiber. I was just about to give up. They really need to fix this cause it is just stupid.

My launcher is extremely SLOW. It takes a 1-2 minutes to initialize/logging in and then another until it becomes responsive and being able to click any buttons. Anyone else having the same issue? Inetcpl.cpl checked. Reinstalling done. Win 10 x64. Any advice is appreciated.

Same problem, slow to launch, slow to login, slow to display main window, slow to do anything. Takes me almost 5 minutes to start the launcher app, login, and launch a game. Been like this since summer 2021. Gave feedback via launcher about this, no one has contacted me or provided a fix. Uninstaller kept failing so I had to wipe all installation folders manually to remove, yet problem persisted after reinstalling. Added launcher app to my AV whitelist, still slow as f***. Win 7 x64

Fellow Australian here. Just went to re-download the other day and found this same issue with the download speed. Less than 400kb/s download from both their launcher, and the manual client download link they sent me. Then suddenly they want personal information from me about my location and such. No way I was going through all that bullshit just for them to keep copy-pasting

Does nothing for me unfortunately. Going between 500kb/s to 7mb/s on 500/500 fiber. Pausing and starting download and it jumps up to full speed and then dropping down to about 50mb/s then in 1 second to 500kb/s. There is no issue with my network. This is a launcher issue/server issue.

Even after doing the method in the video nothing works. My download speed starts at 80MB/Sec and slowly starts to go down overtime to 111 KB/Sec. I'm the only one on the Wifi and I've run multiple speed test and my download speed is +600 Mbps. I also don't use a VPN, so I have no clue of what's causing the problem.

I have a 350mbps connection (tested with both speed testers and other downloads). When I attempt to download a patch, the download speed first spikes to 800kb/s (Not very good for an internet that usually downloads at 40mb/s, but is acceptable, because most of the patches only take 5 or 6 minutes at that speed).
The issue is, soon after, the download speeds start to plummet. They drop about 6-8kb/s every second, meaning that in a minute or two, I end up with 50kb/s and a 2 hour download time. This phenomenon has happened before, but it has never been so serious, as the slowdown rate before was slow enough that I was able to download the patch eventually. Now, its basically impossible for me to download a patch. How can I fix this?

Hey, I just backed the game and am trying to download it now, however the launcher is downloading incredibly slowly. While downloading other games earlier on in the day, I was getting up to 6MB/s, but while downloading Last Epoch, I get at most 250KB/s.

I've noticed the app icons take several minutes or more to display in Ubuntu 21.04. Was instantaneous in Ubuntu 20.10. Each time after I login to Ubuntu 21.04 clicking Settings speeds the population of the launcher bar with icons. Going through this process once is usually enough. One suggestion was removing tlp (power management of some kind) except I didn't have this installed. How should one resolve this issue?

I am not sure whats up with the technic launcher. no matter what pack i download it goes at a insanely slow speed. i have the technic launcher enabled in my firewall. its weird because out of atlauncher and ftb launcher i have no speed issues when downloading packs what so ever its only with technic. not to mention i just literly reformated my computer 2 days ago

Hi everyone. Yesterday i unistalled and reinstalled minecraft, then i played and when i opened the game was very slow like i tryed in 1.18.2 and 1.8.9 and everytime i play hypixel skyblock and i switch to my island to hub it says loading terrain for 2-3 seconds but usually it just teleport me like there was no loading and also my fps got way lower than they were i already tryed to reinstall java and minecraft and also allocating more ram but nothing helped someone know how i can fix? (Gpu: rtx 3060 ti Cpu:i5-10600k Ram 16gb 3600mhz i wrote all the essentials parts of the build that can change performance but i think it's not about hardware because two days ago all was running fine and also all the other games and launchers like lunar are fine)(I also tryed to allocate more ram)

Ok ty btw i tryed to change another time the version of java minecraft is running and also the directory i changed it to desktop and when i opened it was running fine! But then i tryed to change directory and it become slow again... so i thought it was the directory and i tryed to change it again but it wont work...

Guys i fixed it... when i unistalled and reinstalled minecraft for the first time i didnt add patcher to the mod folder and it looked very slow because only 1.8.9 is slow because i think it isnt that optimized so i was used to have high fps and low loading time with patcher now i installed it and it's all fine

I just did an install of Linux Mint [Debian] Xfce. And I panicked; I somehow thought that Xfce on this install was hooped. After ONLY two installs did I realize that Xfce has changed; and more than a little. So I'm a bit slow on the uptake at times.

What I like doing in Xfce is having groups of launchers in a panel. What I had been doing was making one blank launcher that was just an icon and did nothing except have a category name (like "Internet") and an appropriate icon (like a globe for Internet apps). And lined up below that would be the actually launchers that did STUFF.

With the changes to Xfce, I cannot seem to create a blank Icon that does nothing (except serve as a category marker for other launchers). Is there some way to save an app launcher that just has an icon and doesn't actually DO anything?

Definitely, it's much easier to select icons and launcher commands that it was before when you had to select each command and icon separately. That change I like. But I would just like to also be able to create "heading" (dummy) launcher icons as a sort of drop down scheme for categories of apps.

Interesting question! My first thought was that there could exist a plugin for the xfce panel to accomplish this, but I couldn't find it. Second thought, creating an empty launcher. So just add a launcher, go to its properties and choose a random application, and choose your icon. In this GUI it is not possible to set the command to empty, however you can do this in another way.
After you've created your launcher (with the right icon, but still with a command), go to /home/your_user/.config/xfce4/panel/ and look for the directory launcher-x, where x is the highest numer there. Inside this directory is a .desktop file which you can edit with your favourite editor. It looks something like this (I chose "about XFCE" as application):

Patches used to take minutes. Now they take hours. I have a 155 Mbps download speed. The patch is downloading at 5 KBps. This has been happening for the last few patches. I have googled the issue and tried all of the solutions provided (turn off IPv6, disable multi-threaded rendering and Launcher GPU acceleration in the launcher) and still 5 KBps. What else can I do to fix this?
