Good evening,
For anyone interested in sending either financial or material assistance to those suffering from the war in Ukraine, here are details of local efforts.
Please continue to pray for the "cessation of the hostilities against Ukraine, and that reconciliation and peace will flourish there," as you will hear us pray in the Divine Liturgy and Lenten Services.
1. Monetary donations
- St. Nicholas will be passing a tray next Sunday. Along with this, all donations collected at the Sunday of Orthodoxy Vespers and Pan-Orthodox Lenten Services will be donated to IOCC for Ukrainian Humanitarian Aid, via the Orthodox Christian Clergy Brotherhood.
- You may donate directly to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of USA's efforts via their website, https://uocofusa.org/
2. Generator collection
- Anyone with a portable generator they are willing to donate, may drop it off tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday March 8th) at St Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Reply to this email for contact details. These generators will be shipped to Poland on Wednesday and distributing within the Ukraine.
3. Humanitarian Aid items will be collected this Sunday after the Sunday of Orthodoxy Vespers at St Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The list of items is specific, they are not accepting diaper or clothing, please see the list of items attached, along with a flyer for the Sunday of Orthodoxy Vespers.
We stand with our Ukrainian brothers and sisters, praying for their safety and a quick end to the conflict brought to their country.
Wishing you a blessed Lent,
- Fr. Nicholas & Fr. Alexey
