What a great idea, I wish I could be there (will be skiing with the family in the S.I.). Best of luck with the get together, I hope it goes well and that lots of people turn up. I do get home now and then and maybe sometime it will coincide with a reunion.

I do occasionally wonder what different people are up to and where they are. Perhaps an easy way of filling in some of the gaps is to sign up to Fergals google group and fill in your profile. I have started it off. 

Maybe I am one of the lucky ones but I do have a lot of fond memories of that period (maybe need to be sensitive to those who don't) and would love to know how people are. Kevin fills me in with the odd bit of news.

And if anyone ever need a place to kip in NZ give us a shout.

Best bet is to name a date some time mid/late Sept in the city centre, or maybe the Botanic House?. With work and other commitments, we will never get a date to suit all, so just go for it. If this session can form the basis of some form of get-together in the next few months, to allow people to plan and travel accordingly (John H seems to be a Kiwi now!), that would be perfect

Last week I read in the obituary column in the
Irish Independent of the death of Finbar Gaffney's
mother. I couldn't get to the funeral. Then I
realised that I hadn't seen him since 1979. I
heard he was working in the bank, but that's all -
yet "Gaffo" ( as he was then) and I had a
bi-annual pugilistic appointment at the back of
the swimming pool!  I met Damien Hunter, Michael
Fagan and Mervyn Hollywood at a friend's mother's
funeral. I met John O Shaughnessy at Donal O
Laoire's funeral, I last spoke to Fergal Dearle
after his mother passed away, and I last spoke to
Cathal Ryan at Fergus Mc Donnell's father's
funeral, and Mark Collins at his own father's
funeral .......



However recently,  I had pints with Paul Gunn in
London, dinner with David Cummins in New York,
John Hunter and his family came out to my place, I
met Breffni Mc Guinness on Nassau Street and I
meet John Feaheny regularly to slag him about all
the money he is making (Naturally, he always
pleads poverty). I bump into Pat Boylan, Paul
Caffrey, Anthony Sheridan and John Guihan now and
then, and I bumped into Billy Polion, Seamus Ryan,
Dessie Cunningham and Dennis Murphy ages ago.



Anytime I meet anyone from our year they remark on
how it might be good to hook up. Would anyone be
interested in this? Should it be a pint? Dinner?
Should we ask any of the teachers? Should a few of
us meet up first and chat? Any other names to add
to this list, I thought I'd just start the ball
rolling.
