February 13, 2025: Evolving Styles for Learning Systems Thinking [in-person]

Hello all -- as mentioned at last meeting and notice, we're going to stick to second Thursdays of the month.

So the upcoming session is on Thursday, February 13 at 6:30pm at 205 Richmond St. W, Room 510.

In this session, we'll have Stephen Davies, the instructor of 'Understanding Systems' course discuss new ways of teaching and learning systems. He'll be joined by David Ing (previous instructor) to discuss how changes in tech, learning modalities, and socio-economic landscape can influence the way we learn systems today.

As is part of in-person gatherings, we can continue the conversation of dinner afterwards.

Hmmm ...  I'll need to do a little detective work to figure out why this February announcement message ended up in my spambox!  Oh, well.  There's still time.  

Thanks to Zaid for filling in over the weekend to get the announcement at https://wiki.st-on.org/2025-02-13 out.  We're meeting in person, at 205 Richmond Street West, Room 510.  That's Thursday, February 13 (i.e. no conflicts with Valentine's Day) at 6:30pm.  

If you're receiving this message, you're a regular, and really could just show up.  However, we're going through a transition because Eventbrite has a cap of "free" attendees.  Following the example of Civic Tech Toronto, we're going to transition over to guild.host .

Anna,

We're still planning to be on for Thursday evening.  

The weather forecast I saw was bad for Wednesday afternoon commute, with snow ending by Thursday morning.  The ploughs have been alerted, so my guess is that highways will be clear, but people in the morning should expect to be shovelling out driveways.

Stephen, Zaid and I will be coming via TTC (we all live downtown), so that should be fine.

I've been scoping out alternative restaurants nearby for 8:30pm, for those who want to linger.  We'll take a poll on Thursday evening about where to go.
