Welcome to 2025!

We're moving Systems Thinking Ontario to the second (or third) Wednesdays of each month.  This dodges some evening classes for OCADU SFI students, so that they can participate more.  We plan to have a mix of online and in-person events in 2025.

For the 127th meeting of Systems Thinking Ontario, we'll have a conversation on "Generative AI and Inquiring Systems: Ways of Patterning and Ways of Knowing".  There's a description, and some pre-readings (summaries, audio, and video) at https://wiki.st-on.org/2025-01-08

For this session, we're experimenting with making online access easy, by monitoring a waiting room.  If you're a regular, you can just sign in at https://utoronto.zoom.us/j/82286447477 .  If you think we won't recognize your name, please register in advance at https://gen-ai-inquiring-systems.eventbrite.ca

This session will be recorded, and posted online.

Live and learn!

For those who are planning to participate in the first ST-ON session of 2025, we look forward to seeing you on Wednesday!

When we decided to move off Mondays to reduce conflicts for some OCADU students, we weren't exactly sure which day would be better.  We've now discovered that Wednesdays have conflicts too!  So, we've updated the pro forma calendar to have ST-ON sessions on the second Thursdays of the month.

This doesn't mean that we might not occasionally move to another date -- we've slipped to the same day a week later, in some cases, in the past.

School isn't fully in session this week, so Wednesday is somewhat safe.  We're planning for the next session to be on Thursday, February 13.  We'll keep you posted on each month, as we line up speakers and topics.

Good morning David and other systems scholars or students,

Regrettably, your reassigned session slot conflicts with a coauthor meeting of high priority as my colleagues and I must make pressing decisions about publishing options.

This AI topic is of considerable interest to me and my colleagues, so I hope to access the recording. Unfortunate also is the choice of the Thursday date in February which conflicts with my monthly online book club. I hope a recording will be made available for this event as well.

Wishing you prosperous and healthy new years ( both solar and lunar),

Dear David,
Thank you very much for the invitation.
Unfortunately I am also unable to attend.
On Wednesdays I go out of town to ride my pony.
I am looking forward to joining on Thursdays!

Sincerely,
Anna Chekhman
