Dear All,

I hope you have had a peaceful week, inspired by the Psalms we shared on Wednesday. Please find here Psalm 51 in song form, thank you Michael for sharing.

So my final Bible Study with you approaches, we'll also be taking a break for Advent and I should expect you will resume in January. There is of course Holy Hour on the 4th December 7pm for us to pray together in front of the Blessed Sacrament.

This week we're set to learn more about King David's reign in Session 12 Royal Kingdom - Part 2. Required reading: highlights of Davids reign 2 Samuel 5-7 and 11:1-12:25 and Solomon's in 1 Kings 2:1-12, 3, 6:1-7:19, 10:23-29, and 11. To go deeper read all 2 Samuel and 1 Kings 1-11

Royal Kingdom - Part 2

King David - Samuel 2

1. What was the significance in Kingg Davids first royal action? (hint: moving the Ark somewhere...)

King Solomon - 1 Kings 1-11

2. Solomon was perhaps 20 when he assumed the throne of Israel. King Solomon wrote thousands of proverbs, many of which are preserved in the book of Proverbs, one od the supplementary books for the Royal Kingdom period. Read Proverbs 1:1-7 and 2:1-11 What do they teach about wisdom?

3. Read 1 Kings 11:26-43. Desccribe Ahijah's prophecy to Jeroboam, who was the man who put Solomon in charge of laborers from the Northern tribe on his building projects. What hope was given for the long-term outlook of David's dynasty and the kingdom?

Please, remember to pray before you read :)
