Discovery Series Returns This Sunday
Unlocking Hope in Challenging Times

“Christian hope is not something you believe; it’s something you do,” says Summerlee Staten, capturing the heart of our Discovery discussion series this fall. We engage our faith by fully embracing our lives — even the things we’re eager to avoid. First up? Trinity clergy lead us as we explore the gift, and challenge, of forgiveness.

Calendar Highlights

Thursday

6:30pm | Trinity Talks: Kevin Sack
The Rev. Phil Jackson sits down with Pulitzer Prize–winning journalist Kevin Sack, author of Mother Emanuel: Two Centuries of Race, Resistance, and Forgiveness in One Charleston Church, to explore forgiveness as a tool for survival in our darkest times.

Friday

9:30am | Community Barre

Strengthen your body in a class that combines elements of ballet, yoga, and Pilates to form a high-intensity, low-impact workout that’s perfect for beginners. Registration is strongly recommended, as space is limited.

Sunday

10am | First day of Sunday School

Register your child for classes where two-year-olds to fifth graders learn and play together in peer groups. This Sunday, we’ll be visited by Dr. Maya Soetoro before her 1pm Trinity Talks event.

10am | High School Admissions Workshop
If you have a child in your life applying to NYC public high schools, join us for a workshop to help navigate this complex process. Longtime experts and parents in the congregation will provide strategies for finding schools that fit your child’s needs while centering them in the application process.

10am | 2026 Taizé Youth Pilgrimage Info Session
Learn about our annual pilgrimage to Taizé, a faith community in Burgundy, France, where participants join the monastery’s rhythms of daily prayer, service, and rest with young people from around the world. Open to all active high school-aged members of Trinity Youth Group, this year’s journey will take place February 11–22, 2026, and includes several days exploring Berlin.

1pm | Trinity Talks: Dr. Maya Soetoro

How can we create peace in a time of conflict? Peacebuilder, educator, and author Dr. Maya Soetoro sits down with Summerlee Staten for a discussion about how to cultivate peace within ourselves and others.
