Announcements/Reminders:
  • Two new Photo Albums are ready -
    • Blessing of donated Chalises to Fr. Donato
    • EDGE Kick-Off celebration
  • Bible Study with our Deacons - Meets this Tue 7:00p-8:00p and repeated again on Wed 9:00a-10:00a in the Coffee Room.

  • Book Club Discussion - is this Thursday the 27th at 7:00pm.  The book is "Hiding in the Light: Why I Risked Everything to Leave Islam and follow Jesus. 

  • Autumn Fest and Craft Fair - a week from Saturday (the 29th) from 9:00a-3:00p.  Craft booths, kids activities, Chinese Auction, money raffle, bake table, meat pies for sale.  Hot dogs and hamburgers for lunch from the KOC.  Don't miss the fun!

  • Pilgrimage in Fall 2019 -  to Rome, the Holy Land and Medjugorge.  Follow this link to information, details, an itinerary and more. 
I would like to know how many times should we get baptized.  And whether or not we are true Christians only if we get baptized twice.  Should a true Christian be baptized more than once?

  • Autumn Fest and Craft Fair - this Saturday, 9:00a-3:00p.  Crafters (30+), Kids Activities, Chinese Auction, Bake Table, Meat Pie Sales, Hot Dogs and Hamburgers. 
    • Needed - 2 LT kids Fri 5p-7p & Sat 8a-10a to help set up and Sat 9a-12p & 12p-3p to help at the bake table.

  • Free Pancake Breakfast - this Sunday, after the 10:00am Mass.  Winners of the raffle will be chosen and announced at the breakfast.  If possible please bring a non-perishable food item for our Food Pantry (see below).

Announcements/Reminders:
  • Blessing of Animals! - come to the the church tomorrow (Sat) at noon under the Portico and bring your beloved pets.  Walking pets, flying pets, crawling pets, slithering pets.  We want to bless them all.  Follow this link to a photo album of the blessing in 2017. 

  • Bible Study with our Deacons - Tuesday evening at 7:00p and repeated again on Wednesday morning at 9:00a.  Deacon Bill will continue his discussion on the bible.  Next week (the 16th/17th) Deacon Peter will begin a 4 week discussion on The Holy Gospels.  Open to all - mark your calendar and bring a friend!

  • Another, Knight at the Races - Oct 20th, in the Church Hall.  Follow this link for full details and to register.  ... You know you are going to go, why not grab your credit card and register right now.

  • Family Rosary and Bonfire -  Mark you calendar for next Saturday (the 13th) there will be a family rosary and bonfire on the patio outside the Cornerstone.  Bring a picnic and a lawn chair and join us to pray the rosary. Music and s'mores will be provided.  Indoors in event of rain. Come on down...  All are welcome!

Announcements/Reminders:
  • Family Rosary and Bonfiretomorrow Sat. Oct. 13th, at 5:30 PM behind the Cornerstone (inside in case of rain).  Bring a picnic and a lawn chair and join us as we pray the rosary during the month of the rosary. Music and and s'mores will be provided.  All are welcome.
  • Tenebrae Service - this Sunday after the 5:00pm Mass.  Lifeteen invites you to join them for a candle lit Tenebrae Service. 

  • Bible Study - Tue 7p-8p and repeated Wed 9a-10a.  Deacon Peter begins a 4 week session on the Holy Gospels.
  • Knight at the Races - NEXT Saturday, Oct 20th, in the Church Hall.  Ticket price is $12.00 p/p.  That covers admission, hors d'oeuvres, a turkey and/or baked ham dinner, dessert, coffee. Follow this link for full details and to register.  2017 Knight at the Races photo album.

  • Women's Cursillo this weekend,  Immaculate Conception Spiritual Renewal Center, Putnam CT - 26 Candidates with 5 from our parish.  Please keep all candidates and team in your prayers this weekend.

  • All Saints Procession, with our First Lights children this Sunday at the 10:00am Mass.  Children should arrive at 9:45 to line up to process into the church.

  • Bible Study for Men, begins next Friday (the 2nd) at 6:30am, in the Coffee Room.  Coffee will be served.

  • A Day of Reflection with Fr. Donato, Sat. Nov 17th, 9:00a-2:00p.  Theme is Everybody Needs to Forgive Somebody based on the book by Allen Hunt.  Follow this link to register.

Announcements/Reminders:
  • Ultreya, tonight, Friday the Nov. 2.  Mass at 7:00p, Ultreya at 7:30p.

  • Bishop Barrons video, "The Mass" will continue Monday at 7:00p-8:30p in the Cornerstone.  Attendance at the first video is not necessary to participate.  Last and final video, with focus on the Eucharist, is Nov. 19th.

  • Book Club Meets, this coming Thursday at 7:00pm in the 2nd floor conference room.  Bishop Barron's book "To Light a Fire on the Earth" will be discussed.

  • Seeking Donations, of turkeys, stuffing, veggies, etc. for Thanksgiving baskets for those in need in our community. Items can be dropped off in the office during the week or in the baskets in the Narthex.  If you need, or know of some who needs, a basket contact Sr. Agnes 508-248-7862.

  • Visit our website often for the latest information regarding Rel Ed, a comprehensive calendar, news of events in and around our church and much much more. Updated daily.  Make it your St. Joseph's touchstone. 
Ask the Priest... I have heard that intentional ignorance about sin is a sin in itself.  I can think of at least 500 sins.  How could everyone know every sin?  Is really not knowing every sin that there is, a sin in itself?

This Photo Album was worth the wait... Knight at the Races,  Thanks Bob for this labor of love!

Announcements/Reminders:
  • Giant Meat Raffle, Tomorrow 6:00pm in the Church Hall.  Meat, Turkey and Lobster tables, homemade food, beer/wine/soda.  It's a fun event hosted by the MMG.  Come on down!  Oh, we added a surprise you will love (and laugh really hard)!!

  • Stewardship Renewal month, begins this weekend.  Our first speaker is Mr. Kevin Seaman of St. Bridget/Assumption Parish in Millbury.  Fr. Bob asks we meditate on our time, talent and treasure commitment to the Lord in His Church by asking ourselves... can we give some time to a ministry; does my offering reflect God’s goodness to me; what talents can I share to continue to build up God’s Kingdom here; do I tend to hold on to people, things, money, or am I as generous as I can be showing my gratitude for all God has done and given to me?

  • A Day of Reflection with Fr. Donato, is next Saturday (the 17th) beginning with Mass at 9:00a and continuing until 2:00p.  The day consists of talks and group sharing, with lunch provided.  Based on the book by Allen Hunt "Everybody Needs to Forgive".  Follow this link to register.  The fee is $15.00 for adults and $10.00 for students.

  • Brown Bag returns for our Food Pantry, is this weekend.  Thank you for your generosity!

  • Thanksgiving Food Baskets, will be assembled soon.  We are seeking donations of turkeys, stuffing, and all things Thanksgiving food related to fill baskets for those in need in our community.  You can bring items to the office during the week or place in the baskets in the Narthex on the weekend.  Sr. Agnes is takings names of those in need of a food basket.  Distribution will take place Nov. 19th & 20th from 10:00a-2:00p.
Ask the Priest... Sometimes when I ask for things blessed, the priest or deacon uses holy water.  Sometimes he doesn't.  What's the difference?

  • Stewardship Renewal month, continues this weekend.

  • Congratulations to our Steward of the Year, Martha Tower.  Martha has served our faith community in numerous ways including as religious educator for our youth and adults and also with her many workshops, meditations and spiritual reflections.  Be sure to wish Martha well and offer your own congratulations for her many years of service.

  • Hearing Assistance Devices, are available now at all Masses.  See the celebrant or deacon before Mass to request a receiver and earpiece and return after Mass.

  • FREE parish Thanksgiving Dinner, after the 10:00am Mass this weekend.  Come join your parish family at our very special Thanksgiving table.

  • Survey, Fr. Donato is conducting a survey regarding family events for our younger parish families (under high school age).  There are 6 questions that will help identify what you are interested in and willing to attend.  Please take the time to let him know what you think...   https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/3R298PM

  • Bible Studies with our Deacons,  continues this Tue/Wed (the 13th/14th). Deacon Steve Miller is discussing The Epistles.  Sessions meet in the Coffee Room on Tue 7:00p-8:00p and repeated Wed 9:00a-10:00a. 

  • Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service, This Tue (the 20th), 7:30p at the Methodist Church in Charlton.  Deacon Bill is the preacher.

  • "Forgiveness" Day of Reflection with Fr. Donato (11/17 9a-2p),  I know you have been meaning to register... now is the time!!!  More info and to register.

Ask the Priest... What is God's take on Smoking?  I noticed Christians, Muslim and Jews say it's a bad thing or forbidden, but every Catholic priest I knew smoked.   I've been hearing a loud voice ringing in my head and ears every time I smoke saying, STOP!  I don't know if that's God or the devil?

  • New Photo Album... EDGE Night Community Service, Thanksgiving baskets.

  • The Good and the Bad news:  The Good News - Knights of Columbus will be selling Christmas Trees again this year, the Giving Tree is up, the Life Teen Flower Sale is next weekend and the Annual MMG Christmas Cookie Sale will be held Dec 8/9.  The Bad News - The Posada will not take place this season.

  • Well, well, well, we asked.... and you responded!!!  Isn't it just like you to do that.  Our Food pantry shelves were empty and you filled them to capacity.  So much so we were able to fill the shelves and assemble additional Thanksgiving baskets to distribute.  Thank you so very much!  To see a full photo album visit  2018 Food Pantry Before/After.

  • Visit from St. Nicholas... next weekend Dec 8/9, after the 4:30p and 10:00am Masses

  • Consider...  Taking a tag from our Giving Tree.

  • Ask the Priest... What are the real benefits of the Eucharist?  I understand it is not a magic wand that transforms us,  but why do some people receive Holy Communion every week and never grow in the life of grace?

  • Don't forget to bring your cellphones to Mass this weekend!!!
    We are expanding our communication tools to better use text and email.  At all Masses  I will walk you through, step-by-step, how to enroll with our new email and text vendor, Flocknote.  It's easy, safe, secure and if it's not for you you can unsubscribe at any time.  Bring your cellphone to Mass and give it a whirl!  To those of you who already receive this Friday email... YES, you will need to enroll with the new vendor, Flocknote to keep receiving these emails. 

  • A very special Christmas musical chorale will be performed at 10:00pm Christmas Eve, just prior to the 10:30 Mass.  St. Joseph's Vocal and Bell Choirs will prepare us for the most beautiful celebration of the birth of Christ at Mass.  The Christmas Chorale begins at 10:00PM.

Ask the Priest: A friend went to confession lately and what surprised him was, the priest refused to give him absolution. Can the priest tell the sinners that he/she is wasting his/her time by confessing their sins? Can he refuse to give absolution?
