Greetings!
That you to everyone who came to our Holy week services. It was
great to see so many people out. I hope that your celebration of
Easter was a blessed event in your life.
We still have lots of events coming up at St. John's
We are having a Royal Wedding Tea, on the day of the royal wedding
at the hall, and yes that is TOMORROW!
Don't forget that movie day at St. John's is on Saturday.
At 2pm for the kids is
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, and
at 7pm it's
The King's Speech. They are both great films -
bring friends!
We have a Fish Fry with Mike Mundell on the 14th May so be sure to
plan to come and enjoy some of the best fish available in the
Kingston area. There are still tickets available.
As I mentioned last week Living Cities is going to be operating a
community garden at St. John's this summer, be sure to check them
out on their
web
site. To let everyone know about this, and to give everyone a
chance to ask questions, we will have two of the people doing the
garden, at church on the 1st of May (this Sunday) to tell us about
it, and to answer questions at coffee.
It might be a good
opportunity to invite any of your friends that are interested in
community gardening, to come to church!
Readings for Sunday are
ACTS 2:14A, 22-32; PSALM 16, 1 PETER
1:3-9; and JOHN 20:19-31. As always if you are able, I
encourage you to read these texts before Sunday. You will find that
thinking about the scriptures before will really help you to engage
in our Sunday service more fully.
many blessings,
Steve
