Hi Everyone!
I hope you are all having a good week.
We had a good meeting about the NCD survey that we completed a few
weeks ago on Tuesday night. If you didn't get a chance to attend,
any member of the NCD committee would be glad to talk to you about
it. The members include: Rev. Steve, Pauline, Brenda, Cathy, and
Nick.
Don't forget we are having a church picnic this Sunday! We
will supply hot-dogs and hamburgers, please bring either a desert
or salad to share.
As well Canada Day approaches. Remember our Ploughman's lunch at
the hall, and garage sale.
Good news about the community garden: We had a keen group of
gardeners turning the sod and working on setting up the garden at
the church on Wednesday. Because of the late start, people getting
vegetables will be receiving them from one of the Kingston gardens
for the first few weeks.
Readings for Sunday are:
GENESIS 22:1-14; PSALM 13; ROMANS 6:12-23; MATTHEW 10:40-42 . As
always if you are able, I encourage you to read these texts before
Sunday. The Matthew reading is certainly thought provoking. It
should make for an interesting sermon on Sunday. The original
Common lectionary reading was Matt 10 34-42, even more shocking!
Finally, we are having Morning Prayer on Wednesday mornings at
10:00am in the hall. Please consider joining us! We have a time of
reflection about the readings of the week, and pray together for
the Town of Bath, and that God would be glorified in our lives and
in the life of our Church.
many blessings,
Steve
