The fall approached in Pathlow in 1980, as Tim & "The Hit" man handled
282 45 Gallon barrels full of honey into the Saskatchewan Co-op Semi
Trailer. It had been a learning experience, and "The Hit" could
handle a full barrel of honey weighing 600 pounds. "The Hit" was
happy to see the end of the season, as he prepared himself to appear
in court for the impaired driving charge. Leo drove him into Melfort,
and "The Hit" decided what he was going to do! He had not saved as
much money as the previous year in Lloydminster, and he decided to
refuse to pay the fine. He appeared in court in Melfort, and he
pleaded guilty. He was sentenced to a fine. "The Hit" stood up after
his sentencing and refused to pay the fine stating the he "needed
every dime he had to continue University at the University of
Saskatoon in less than 2 weeks. There was a silence in the court.
The judge suggested payments, perhaps? "The Hit" stood firm. He said
"I'll go to jail".

"The Hit" checked into the Westin Suites, and he was happy the
business trip was finished. "The Hit" appreciated the auto glass
industry insight he had found in Pennsylvania. However, he did not
want to be a part of the deal making. He wanted to work with a team
to incorporate the auto glass industry needs into software with a
software team. He was looking forward to having management take care
of the business side of the software, as he unpacked his bag for the
last night at the Westin. Then, he decided to take a walk to see how
far he was from the airport for the next morning because he was
running out of money. He left the Westin heading northwest on Island
Ave / PA-291 toward Bartram Ave before turning left at Bartram Ave /
PA-291 for a kilometre. He could see the airport another kilometre
away, and he decided he would walk the next morning to save money on a
cab. He would build in an hour to take the walk in the morning, and
he decided to stop for a drink near the Hampton Inn at Bartram and 88
TH Street.

Bill picked "The Hit" up at the entrance of the Westin Hotel at 555
Fellowship Road in NJ, and they took Route 38 from the Mount Laurel
Westin towards Admiral Wilson Boulevard. They started southwest on
Fellowship Rd toward Route 73 where they turned right on Route 73
before they took the ramp onto I-295 S for 14 km. They merged onto
I-76 W toward Camden / I-676 for Philadelphia on the Partial toll road
before entering Pennsylvania over the Delaware River. They took exit
349 toward State Hwy 611 / Broad Street before merging onto Pollock St
for a few blocks. Then they turned right on S Broad Street before
turning right at E Passyunk Avenue. They stopped in at Pat's King of
Steaks on 1237 E Passyunk Ave for one of the best cheese steak burgers
"The Hit" has ever eaten. The downtown neighbourhood appeared to be
free of the Mysterious Financier, however "The Hit" remained aware of
people around him. They finished their dinner before heading for the
Liberty Bell.

Revolution

Like any disease, the meddling in Vietnam which began in 1955
(possibly 1947)continued to fester, and the number of troops in
Vietnam with stars and strips in their eyes continued to increase in
numbers. "The Hit" could see a direct relationship between the need
for American troops and the hate of the American occupation. The
Americans called anyone who challenged them either Communists or
Terrorists. In 1959-1960 The Caribbean Second Marine Ground Task
Force was deployed to protect US nationals (military and civilians)
following the Cuban Revolution. In Thailand in 1962 the The Third
Marine Expeditionary Unit landed on May 17, 1962 to make sure the
local population didn't have a political choice towards Communism.
Political discussions were completed when the Americans withdrew by
July 30 1962 when 5,000 marines had finished discussing political
science. Since most Communists were getting attacked by the
Americans, the Cubans worked out their strategic defence with the
Russians. Cuban self defence caused the Cuban Missile Crisis on
October 22,1962 as detent was tested. President Kennedy instituted a
"quarantine" on Cuba from the Soviet Union. Kennedy warned the Soviet
Union that Cuba's self defence with nuclear missiles would lead to an
American nuclear retaliation on the Soviet Union. "The Hit" mused
that American Revolutionary War was great for the Americans, but the
Cuban Revolution was obviously bad for the Cubans. Was there such a
thing as tripartite detent?

Leo picked up "The Hit" on August 29 TH in Melfort, and "The Hit"
returned to the Rocky Ridge Ranch to pack the Econoline Van for his
trip to Saskatoon. "The Hit" stopped by Pathlow to say goodbye to
Tim, and then he took the # 368 Grid north to the # 5 Highway on his
way back to the Star Trailer Court in Saskatoon on Saturday August 30
TH 1980. "The Hit" drove into the Star Trailer Court with the hope of
getting the rest of the rent from Rob for the summer. Rob, Pat, Dan,
and Garland did not have the rent. "The Hit" had planned to use their
rent to find a place near the University of Saskatchewan, and since
they could not catch up on the rent he decided to move back into the
house trailer himself. Rob, Pat, Dan, and Garland moved out of the
house trailer over the next few days, and "The Hit" found himself a
job across Idlewild Drive at the Husky Car and Truck Stop at Idlewild
and Circle Drive.

Sawed Off Shotgun: Harvey's Run

The beginning of December 1980 saw "The Hit" trying to turn the mobile
home in Star Trailer Court from a place to party to a place to live
quietly. He stopped inviting people over to his place, and he stopped
Wayne Seroka and his Gang at the door. Becky was hanging around with
Penny, and they did drop by once or twice early in December. Penny
was living from place to place while partying with Wayne and his
Gang. Donny was getting ready to go home for Christmas, and "The Hit"
continued to hang around with Melanie, and "The Hit" met Perry
Hawryluck. "The Hit" tried to prepare for his exams, however he knew
he was too far behind. Meanwhile, Harvey's Run continued from Watrous
to a small acreage just outside of Saskatoon with "The Hit's" mother.
Harvey was still running from "The Twins", as "The Hit" snapped back
to his situation on Victoria Drive.

Conspiracy to Commit Murder

After David left that night "The Hit" thought about what had
happened. Paul was just answering the man's questions, and Paul
offered up the information about the shotgun in front of David and
"The Hit". This man knew that "The Hit" had protection, and "The Hit"
hoped that this would provide him with some security while at home.
The Clan from Clavet had set him up to die to cover their involvement
in the loss of the drugs. Was this man one of the Clan from Clavet?
Would he tell the others about the shotgun? "The Hit" hoped this
would work in his favour? Obviously the Vancouver Police Department's
informant would not have a sawed off shotgun. In the third week of
May, "The Hit" did not let on to Paul that he heard the conversation.
Paul didn't do anything wrong other than give a little information,
and "The Hit" hoped that information would not only protect him, but
it should tell the Hell's Angels and the Cartel something was wrong.
This could possibly be the first step in telling them the truth.

BJ, Becky and the Clavet Roadside Inn

In Saskatoon, "The Hit" lost his job at Energy Doctor, and in February
of 1982 he started working for Prime Sports selling school and
community sports winter jackets which Prime Sports manufactured in
Winnipeg. He sold the customized jackets throughout Saskatchewan on a
commission basis. The job did not pay very well, and "The Hit" may
not have had the best sales skills. However, during his travels he
would meet Becky again at the Clavet Roadside Inn in Clavet. He did
not know she would be working at the restaurant on the highway.
However, this would be the last time he would meet Becky at the
restaurant. While he was at the restaurant, he would also see BJ
coming into the restaurant and talking to Becky and who "The Hit"
believed to be the cook. "The Hit" finished his meal and continued on
his sales calls for Prime Sports until the "season" was over in the
spring as hockey and the schools were ending the jacket season.

Britannia Policing Station

In 1998, "The Hit" checked the time as he prepared to walk to the
Britannia Policing Station at 1661 Napier Street next to the Britannia
Pool. He walked out of the front of the house with the loaded sawed
off shotgun in the bag. He turned south on Victoria Drive knowing
that the Policing Station was going to be open. He walked 2 blocks
south to Napier Street, before he turned west towards Commercial
Drive. He crossed Salsbury Drive, and he arrived at the corner of
Napier and Commercial Drive. He crossed Commercial Drive, and he had
second thoughts about what he was doing? Should he be turning over
his protection in the gun amnesty program? He needed time to think!
He walked one half block north on the west side of Commercial Drive,
and he decided to think in a public place. He stepped into the Pizza
Garden at 1042 Commercial Drive. There was a short line during the
dinner hour, and he waited for a few seconds. He looked around and
noticed a very shocked looking man who may very well have known what
was going on that day. He looked like an older, slightly taller
version of BJ. Then, his turn came up for the hostess, and he made an
excuse that he would not have time. He left. He walked north on
Commercial Drive and he turned right on Napier. He walked up to the
Britannia Policing Station at 1661 Napier Street to turn over the
sawed off shotgun.

Saskatoon Police Department

The Saskatoon Police Department surprised him in Saskatoon, and he
explained what he was doing as the department was considering him for
a problem. He tried to explain how he was using vacant land to bring
people downtown for parking. He tried to explain how he was cleaning
up land for useful purposes. He explained how he was adding to the
tax base after delivering a check for $80,600 for the multi level
facility. He explained how certain local land owners were seeing
benefits and pride in their land. Finally, he stated clearly how his
crew Tyler and Bernie were behind cleaning up their city for future
prosperity. The conversation went on to what Imperial Parking was
doing for the downtown core after the Saskatchewan Place decision as
the decision had gone to the outside of the city. "The Hit" stood for
what he was doing in Saskatoon, and the Saskatoon Police Department
respected his efforts. The meeting across from the Patricia Hotel
ended in the Saskatoon Police Department seeing their advantage in
allowing private tickets.
