I received an email from a brother knight who felt that my posting articles which show the position of the two candidates for President and other articles regarding abortion was using the KofC site for a proliferation of my political views. I admit that I'm prolife and will not apologize for that. As a Catholic I strongly believe that anyone who supports a politician who is as anti life as Hillary cannot profess to be a Catholic Articles from life news from Catholic Bishops make this clear The article about Trump was based on his interview on EWTN which I respect and do not feel should offend any Catholic.
One needs to compare the platforms of the kkDemocratic Party which advocates abortion on demand with no restrictions and taxpayer funding of abortion as compared to the Republican platform which advocates protection of human life from conception to natural death
Brothers my intention is not to offend but I will admit I hope my postings will convince you that to support a pro abortion or pro death candidate is intrinsically evil
One other point I would like to make is that our Council is chartered as a 501(c-4) nonprofit which permits the organization to be involved in politics including advocating for or against a political party or candidate às long as this is not our primary purpose. This is different than the Church and its ministries which are 501(c3) non profit which have restrictions on political activities

I would agree, but proLife is all life from conception to natural death. There is only one candidate that falls in our Catholic values on the pro life platform, that a fellow Brother Knight has showed me. This candidate is not the one you are defending. He gets disregarded because he is not part of a major party. So if we are basing a disagreement on pro life values I challenge you to google Evan McMullin and make your own decision. If he gets 5% of votes his party will get funding for the next election and a automatic seat at the debates just food for thought.

Chris I don't disagree with you but I have been advocating that we work and support prolife candidates up and down the the ticket As far as president there is only one viable candidate and I know he is far from perfect He has selected a running mate Mike Pence who is very prolife. I just pray that that the pro abortion/pro death party does not take the presidency or gain seats in the House or Senate.

"viability" of a candidate is determined by the votes they receive. If we refuse to support truely prolife candidates and instead vote for the major nominee we will never see truely prolife candidates as the republican or democratic nominee.
Also, keep in mind, the Republican nominee supported all abortion including partial birth abortion just a few years ago. I have seen nothing other that political rhetoric to indicate he has changed his opinion. Further, even his stance of the funding of planned parenthood is a mid-season change.
I agree with Chris, neither the Democrats nor the Republicans have a prolife candidate.

Evan McMullin was not on the Texas ballot at least not on the early ballot. Trump has a great story online of when he became prolife. Anyone wanting to defend is viable. I wish kofc would have something about Evan McMullin I've never heard of them.

I concur with your views George. The KofC is a Catholic Order and as such, we believe in furthering its teachings. Evil is evil no matter what you name it. I encourage you to post what you feel like posting for I am sure that everyone ,including Supreme,will support you on this matter.

Sounds like someone that did not go to the meeting where the bishop gave us the Catholic guide to voting. You cannot be Catholic and vote for an abortionist that is it period end of story. Do pass go do not collect 200 dollars. I wish this Evan guy would have filed earlier than 6 days before military ballots went out. Sounds a little disorganized. Luckily Texas let him change one of his petitioners and saved him. Not sure he is ready to be a national candidate. Maybe next time. And this is a private google group in no way run by Supreme.

For all those debating with George this year has been a very difficult choice inside one party but no one can explain why obama won 54 percent of the Catholic vote in 2008 and 50 percent in 2012. In those years the Republican choices were clearly pro life.

Great discussion and I'm really happy no one advocates Supporting Hillary or any other prodeath politician Third party candidates have not been sucessful and generally helped defeat one of the mainstream candidates. Maybe a better tact would be to support the prolife person running in the primary and be active with the party to help make sure the platform is prolife. There use to be some bluedog democrats who were prolife but the party has become so anti life. That they can't survive in the party. We have so called Catholics who have really traded their souls in order to advance within the party. Hilary's VP is one as is VP Biden pelosi and our own congressman Castro. We all need to pray for our country

I am really disappointed the we are discussing our political inclinations on this forum and the reference to our 501 [c] status allowing our chapter to advocate for a particular cause or political group. If that is the case why have we not resolved at our council who to vote or not vote for?

I see nothing on here advocating for one candidate just that we follow the Catholic guide to voting. You started this in 2008 and 2012 when you unabashedly came out and supported Barack Obama who supported some of the worse abortion policies as a senator in Illinois. I was the moderator for the group at the time. I strongly suggest you take this offline with father jan and bishop Yanta and ask about your continued support for an abortionist platform. I pray for you and your family. I'm sorry you feel unwelcome but our faith makes this choice fairly simple.

Okay I never write on this but this Google group, whether private or not is using the name of the Knights of Columbus and as far as that goes they have instructed us to be non partisan in talking for or against a particular candidate in Knights emails using their name. This attached is from their website. Feel free to educate yourself. Make another group to talk political issues, and look at earlier emails and you will see what the subject lines say.

I am surprised that you sounded like you know me,I've never advocated for any candidate in this forum nor have I propagated political ideology. It is foolhardy to assume that every catholic will be Repulican leaning. Even the Holy Father has reminded us that our struggle is not a one issue struggle - how about the church's stand on the death penalty , contraception , poverty , racial discrimination ,
Unjust incarceration, police-community relationship etc. Besides what is the moral fiber of your favored candidate oh gosh!
My family ( a large Catholic one) and I will continue to pray for you and your family .

TochukwuI see nothing on here advocating for one candidate just that we follow the Catholic guide to voting. You started this in 2008 and 2012 when you unabashedly came out and supported Barack Obama who supported some of the worse abortion policies as a senator in Illinois. I was the moderator for the group at the time. I strongly suggest you take this offline with father jan and bishop Yanta and ask about your continued support for an abortionist platform. I pray for you and your family. I'm sorry you feel unwelcome but our faith makes this choice fairly simple.VR,
