Measuring Church energy use

If we want our churches (and their congregations) to reduce their carbon emissions, the first step is to start measuring energy use, so we have benchmarks against which to measure progress.
 
The CofE Shrinking the Footprint campaign promotes the sMeasure online energy monitoring tool. You can find out more and register free at: 
 
 
Reasons to use sMeasure to monitor energy use include:
  • A better understanding of your building efficiency
  • Comparison of your energy usage with others
  • Sharing your commitment with the local community
  • Saving money
If we can sign up 20 parishes in the Diocese, we can start our own community to compare progress.
 
Could you please speak to an appropriate person in your parish to sign up to sMeasure?
