Building Opportunities for Self-SufficiencyBOSS Seeks New Executive DirectorPosition title: Executive Director – Building Opportunities for Self Sufficiency – BOSSAgency Summary: Building Opportunities for Self-Sufficiency (BOSS) is an Alameda County based nonprofit organization established in 1971. The organization serves family and single homeless with co-occurring challenges. BOSS operates a network of residential and non-residential programs that address 4 core service areas—Housing, Health, Economic Development, and Social Justice—as essential ingredients for ending homelessness and poverty. BOSS is a highly diverse organization on all levels. We are a union shop with 100+ dedicated employees and an operating budget of $6 million.The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years experience as an Executive at a mid to large size organization ideally with a track record of fundraising success. He or she will preferably have experience in the mental health, social work and/or housing field. The candidate will have good written and oral communication skills, strong financial acumen and excellent speaking skills to galvanize partners and supporters. He or she will have the ability to absorb and analyze large quantities of information and opinion to make timely and quality decisions. Finally our candidate will need an acute sensitivity to BOSS’s target constituency.
