In 1993, Hanna-Barbera produced a made-for-television animated adaptation of Ray Bradbury's classic novel of the same name. Featuring narration by the author himself, the movie explains some of the history of the holiday as experienced via an across-time adventure with a group of trick-or-treating kids. The hand-painted backgrounds, haunting music of John Debney, and Bradbury's narration elevate this to much more than a mere children's Halloween special.

This 1979 television anthology Halloween special was hosted by Vincent Price. It featured the stories "The Ghost Belonged To Me," "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," and "The House With a Clock In Its Walls."

A Grogu Halloween special sounds like a fantastic idea! Just imagine the adorable little creature from "The Mandalorian" going on Halloween adventures in a galaxy far, far away. On October 21, 2011, Valve developer Jon Lippincott posted to the HLDS mailing list, stating that new Halloween content will be released "in the near future".[2] The e-mail confirmed the introduction of gift drops, which were a feature of previous Halloween events that dropped special items, such as the Haunted Halloween Gift, for players on the specific event map Mann Manor. Lippincott stated that gift drops will only occur on servers that have registered with Steam, and that abusing or attempting to cheat the drop system will result in the removal of the server's registration.

On October 27, 2011, a blog post on the TF2 Official Website announced the imminent arrival of the "Scream Fortress Very Scary Halloween Special" with a new comic titled "Bombinomicon", as well as some details of the halloween update such as "awesome costumes that you can pick up by collecting scattered gifts in the Halloween update". The comic hints that MONOCULUS will be the event's boss, similar to the Horseless Headless Horsemann.[3]

On October 27, 2011 Patch, Halloween 2011 content was added including a "haunted" version of Viaduct known as Eyeaduct, two halloween achievements and a cosmetic halloween themed item set for each class.[4]

Hulu has once again met up with Justin Roiland for another animated comedy show following the ongoing popularity of both Rick and Morty and Solar Opposites. Roiland's latest project, The Paloni Show! Halloween Special!, goes back to his roots as an animator. Originally pitched for Fox's Animation Domination as the wild and off-kilter comedy series The Paloni Family Comedy Show, the show has been reworked as a Halloween variety special highlighting up-and-coming animators and their spooky shorts. Per Deadline, the show arrives on the streamer on October 17.

Roiland's rejected pitch focused on a family dedicated to hosting a comedy variety show out of their house with their bizarre neighbors, including a violent old lady and the eerily-named Mustard Girl, popping in to star. The show was headed by the oldest sibling and hopeful variety show host Leroy alongside Grandpa Jo and Leroy's younger brother Marty, the latter two of which seem to be precursors to Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith respectively. In order to distinguish itself for Hulu, the family dynamic has changed with Leroy sticking around as the oldest sibling voiced by Roiland while Zach Hadel (Smiling Friends) voices his temperamental, fast-talking little brother Reggie whose anger often disrupts the show and distracts him from hosting. The family is rounded out by Pamela Adlon (Better Things) who plays the middle child Cheruce who's bitter that her brothers don't take her ideas for the special seriously.

Roiland executive produces the special alongside Ben Bayouth who's known for acting in and writing for Blark and Son as well as penning an episode of The Boys Presents: Diabolical. 20th Television Animation produces the show.

KING: No, they scared me. You have to remember that we're talking 10 or 11 years old. And even with a picture like "Teenage Monster," where the flying saucer appeared to be a cool cigarette filter tipped with a sparkler stuck in it, that it looked real to me because I was at a young and very credulous age. And one of the other things that I sensed is, as time went passed and I got a little more discriminating in my ability to detect special effects, if not necessarily my sense of taste, was that when I wrote it, you never saw the zipper going up the monster's back, that when the imagination was in charge of special effects, they were always perfect, as perfect as the book was, anyway.

GROSS: So you mentioned the boy in the wheelchair was the first image that came to you. And that boy in the novel is a 10-year-old named Mike who has muscular dystrophy but a special kind, which usually kills you in your early teens or 20s. But Mike has the sight. What is the power that he has?

PEELE: You know, one of them that really got me was "Nightmare On Elm Street". There was - and something about the way that, you know, Freddy operated with so much malice - and also the way that those movies, you know, the sequels especially, begins, almost being told - with Freddy as the main character. It was almost as if we were meant to identify with this monster more than the teens he was killing. And he had this weird, dark sense of humor. Something about that really disturbed me to my core.

PEELE: I did. I did. Yeah. That was one of the things, especially something that I feel like every horror movie fan is sort of underserved with smart protagonists, certainly Black horror movie fans have been, you know, been particularly vocal. I mean, there's the whole Eddie Murphy routine about, you know, Black people in a horror movie wouldn't last very long, right? They just walk in, you hear, get out. Too bad we can't stay, baby.

NEW YORK -- Halloween is just days away, so get ready for a spine-chilling adventure as we delve into the world of the supernatural in this Snapshot New York with Steve Overmyer special!

The special stars Gael García Bernal and Laura Donnelly (star of The Nevers and Outlander). It's directed by Michael Giacchino, best known as the composer of various Mission: Impossible, Jurassic World, Star Trek and Pixar movie soundtracks. He also scored The Batman, Lightyear and several Marvel flicks including the recent Thor: Love and Thunder.

The Halloween special is the next Marvel live action adventure to hit Disney Plus, while current MCU series She-Hulk heads for its finale on Oct. 13. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hits theaters in November, and after that it's back to Disney Plus for another one-off, the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special in December.

Looks like the time is now: On October 17, Hulu will air The Paloni Show! Halloween Special!, which follows Leroy, Reggie and Cheruce Paloni as they host a Halloween special full of spooky shorts from a group of up-and-coming animators.
