Hello all,
Attaching here a report about Low-Barrier MOUD findings and recommendations via a workgroup with the state: Low Barrier MOUD Workgroup Final Report
Kim Price and I participated in this workgroup and advocated for Recommendation #2: expanding MOUD delivery into non-traditional, low-barrier settings (like SSPs!). There is some other awesome stuff in there too, like removing prior auths for MOUD. This is via Ashley Anderson with the state: “We are monitoring House File 3444, which proposes removing prior authorization on all FDA approved formulations of MOUD. The bill was introduced on 2/19 and will likely be carried over to the Governor’s Omnibus Bill.” Prior authorizations take a significant amount of staff time, so this change would have a HUGE impact on access, especially for injectables.
Hope this is helpful to all and let me know if anyone has questions about it. Please share the link to the report broadly in your networks and within your organizations,
