Dear Ms. Dushanthi Fernando, Executive Assistant, UNHCR Representation in Sri Lanka.
My name is Kenta Izumi, a member of the UN-Forum Sri Lanka Study Program (SSP).
Ā
Ā
As you have already been informed by Ms. Moriya, I would like to enquire if it is possible for your office to kindly accommodate visit to your project sites in Sri Lanka.
Ā
Ā We are planning to visit Sri Lanka from 6 to 12 this September . The main objective of our visit to Sri Lanka is to learn the efforts of peacebuilding and establishing sustainable society after the long-lasted conflict.
Ā
We are a group of about 40 young professionals and students; we will be splitting into two groups of 20 when we visit project sites outside of Colombo.
(Of course we will be flexible about the number of people, depending on the situation.).
Ā
If possible, we are hoping to visit an IDPs site on 8 September in the north region (Such as Vavuniya, Killinocci and Jaffna).
Ā
Also, if possible, we would like to visit your office for briefing in Colombo on the 10 September.
Ā
Thank you very much for your understanding and cooperation in advance.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.Ā
Ā
Best regards,
Ā
Yours sincerely.

Ā
UNHCR in Colombo can provide your study group with a briefing at 10:00 ā 11:00 am on 10 September 2015. Please be present at UNHCR Office Conference Room of which the Address is : No 98, Rosmead Place, Colombo 7 (please note we are not in the UN Compound and it takes roughly 10 to 15 minutes to get to our office from the UN compound. J )
Ā
Given that UNHCR is one of the few Agencies that continues its work in the field from conflict times to date, our work with both IDPs and Refugee returnees are quite vast. If the need arises, we can accommodate your visit to an IDP site ( either a welfare camp or a returnee site) in Jaffna on 8 September.
Ā
Please feel free to contact us should you have any other clarifications with the above.
Ā
Best regards,
Dushanthi

Dear Akiko and Megumi,
Ā
Many thanks for your messages and apologies for my delay in reply.
Ā
We look forward to welcoming you to our office in September.
Ā
Unfortunately I will not be in Sri Lanka during the time of your visit, but our Representative, Ms. Una McCauley will be in Colombo and greet you. Therefore the day and time will depend on her calendar. Unfortunately, for the time being I do not have access to her agenda (both our executive assistant and Una are on leave this week) and hence I cannot confirm the exact date and time. Therefore, I would propose to tentatively agree on 11 September, 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm, but to re-confirm on Monday, 31 August, if ok with you.
Ā
In order to agree on the number of participants, would you please let us know what would be the major areas of discussion with UNICEF and the expected results of this visit? I will be a bit difficult to accommodate 40 participants at once in our office, but we can do our best to find a solution that is convenient to you.
Ā
With warm regards,
Paula

Thank you for your mail.
Since we ordered the food box via a travel agency, honestly speaking, we are not sure the actual delivery company and how many boxes will come. Hence, one or two of our members will wait in front of the security gate at 11:00 am.Ā In addition, thank you for your offer. We would like to use your place to have our lunch.
Iām excited to meet you soon.
Best Regards,
AkikoDear Ms. Fernando and Ms. Amarasinghe,
Thank you so much for providing us with such a great opportunity yesterday.Ā
I really appreciate for your arrangement of our visit and we are glad that we had the opportunity to hear and discuss your activities such as IDP and refugees in Sri Lanka. Also, we were impressed by your warm-hearted souvenir.
Mr. Okamoto, who did the opening remark yesterday, will send you a photo of us.
Again, many thanks for your support.
Yours Sincerely,
AkikoDear Akiko,
It was very nice meeting all of you yesterday and its always a pleasure to speak to people about our work and mandate. Iām glad you all found it useful.
