Recently the discussions were hot with regards to finding goalkeeping cover in the event of a mid to long term injury. The saturday club discussed the in and outs of the current situation and this even prompted HQ to ask if a rule change was needed

The majority of the discussion was started by Asbo manager Simon Marsh who had indeed suffered the maligned keeper situation when his keeper Foudy went down for 4 weeks missing 4 league games and a cup game.

The search for keeper cover lasted a number of days before Asbo paid £7.5m for
D_Klobuchar      24  GK 23  1  1  1 $28,000  OK   10M     N/A

At 23-rated it was felt he probably still wouldnt be good enough for division one football but the alternative was playing a 20-rater.

Lets have a look at his performances in an Asbo shirt

Asbo 1 Shieldfield 1
11-3 shot count.
Klobuchar 1 save and 1 goal conceded
2 points dropped

Ac Larne 2 Asbo 2
7-5 shot count
Klobuchar 0 saves and 2 goals conceded
Arguably 2 points dropped

Middletown 1 Asbo 0
12-3 shot count
Klobuchar 4 saves and 1 goals conceded
Klobuchar gave away the 89th minute penalty that lost the game.
Arguably 1 point dropped

Asbo 1 Derry 6
11-13 shot count
Klobuchar 4 saves and 6 goals conceded
Arguably 1 point dropped

Total league save 9 / Total goals conceded 10
One might say he was about as much use as a traffic cone

Klobuchar best game was in the cup when his 4 saves helped the side to a 2-1 win over top flight Midland.

Klobuchar has now left the club in a £7.0m deal with Judithiniikos to cover their 5-week goalkeeper injury. He is hopefully more likely to perform in division two and a significant upgrade from 18 to 23.
Butetown suffered a long keeper injury in the early part of the season.

With no changes in the rules teams are well advised to develop more goalkeepers for the future of the game. The trouble for those new to a club or those who have not acted yet it can take 6-7 seasons to develop in-house and your youth team will suffer poor results for 2 seasons.

Interesting article

Churchill will be reviewing their Gk situation end of season. We have 3 top quality keepers and one will be sold. Could be tempted before transfer deadline for the right deal or do a deal after transfer deadline so it goes through EOS. Or wait until new season when most transfers happen.

I am ideally looking for cash or exchange for super youth players

thanks
