Lets look at round 16
Washington_Sports - Supermarket_United. The Stats surprisingly have Washington at 63% at home. Supermarket have been faltering lately but are still ahead in form and league position. Washington have been switching between defensive and attacking formation with varying success and so it will be interesting to see which way they go here. Supermarket on the other hand have been playing with more aggression lately also with varying success. It will be a tactical battle and who knows which way each manager will go. The stats heavily favour Washington so I am going to stick with them.
Manchester_Reds - Ontario_Maple_Hawks The stats have Manchester at 52%. Manchester recently have been moving away from their all out attack philosophy and so its hard to know what they will do here. Ontario continue to beat teams in the bottom half and lose to those in the top half so maybe they have the edge here. Manchester played well against Supermarket last week and should take some confidence from that. Manchester have simply underperformed most of the season and so I would choose Ontario here. A draw wouldn't be out of the question either.
Shurdington_AFC - Huracan_Rhythm Stats have Shurdington at 67%. They are not easy to beat at home and are marching away at the top of the table. I don't think they will be down in division two next year. Having said that Huracan are currently in great form too. They comfortable sit second in form and have done so for at least the last 3 weeks. They have climbed from the bottom half in round nine to as high as fourth two weeks ago. A slip up last week against Jacobs will not have impressed manager Ryan Craig and if they had won that match they would be sitting third. This is a big test and their motivation should be high. Shurdingtom play with a massive midfield and have been concentrating on attack a lot lately and its working for them. I think Shurdington but it will be a good game.
Ludlow_Penguins - Burntwood_Rovers Stats have Ludlow at 54%. Burntwood had a great win last week against Castleford and the fans will have started to believe again. But Ludlow beat Castleford four weeks ago and haven't won since. This makes it surprising that Ludlow are favourites. They are really having a poor season and barring a miracle will replace Ontario as the reigning wooden spooners. Burntwood have found some midfield strength in recent times and Ludlow have been strengthening their defence. Both sides are trying things and are probably looking to determine what they target in the next trade season. Its hard to pick Ludlow but maybe this is their chance for a second win. I will go with the form and back Burntwood.
Jacobs_FC - Welling_Town Jacobs by 64% according to the stats. Welling are getting some reasonable results even with what appears to be under-manned side. Their defence is ok but they lack talent in the midfield and attack. Jacobs are more balanced and have the home advantage which will be the reason for the large percentage. Jacobs had a great win last week against the red hot Huracan side and will take confidence from this. If they can back it up they will be applying pressure on Washington in the top six. In fact with Burntwood and Washington having tough games we could see a real traffic jam for the last playoff spot. This alone should motivate Jacobs for a win.
Castleford_Town - Asbo_All_Stars We have Castleford at 64%. But if Asbo's cup run tells us anything, its that the league is close, and a bit of luck on the right day and anything is possible. Having said that I cant pick against Castleford here unless they continue to struggle against bottom six sides. With unexpected losses against Burntwood and Ludlow in the last four weeks we have to question the players mental strength. Matthew Write will be seething that Castleford isn't second at the moment and will most likely need to qualify for promotion. They need the points here and barring some Simon March magic should get it done.
