Coogee Lock Down: First 7 weeks weekly scouting report
As the scouting season progresses, Coogee Convicts have not been actively participating in the weekly bidding for the scouted players due to once again being in a long running debt, but they have been watching with interest as always.
The Convicts have been in a relatively small amounts of debt since the pre season staff auction in which the Institution decided to invest into the once again over priced staff coaches, alongside paying out top dollar for new signing P Diddy and a large supply of baby oil, which can add up quite quick and be relatively costly.
With 15 players being scouted in total over the season and 7 revealed so far - 2 defenders, 3 midfielders, 1 forwards and 1 keeper, which means 4 defenders, 2 midfielders, 2 forward and 0 keepers remain to be scouted. If you wanted a goalkeeper, well sorry the one slot has been and gone in week 6. Maybe next season for you.
The Warden had the below to say;
"Been some big money spent so far, and some good players available especially the youth. I am missing not being able to get amongst it, but we made our bed and must lie in it. Without further adieu, here are my thoughts on what's gone down so far..."

A 26 rated defender with low to average 2nds in elite terms. That saw him skipped by most of the elite teams and he was picked up by AAS for £21.602 millions. Probably, a little more than market value, but a player in the bag is better than money left unspent in your pocket some times.

Young but a below average player in my opinion. I think the worst Aussie team in the league over paid here with a stunning 21.5m spent on a 25 rater. He will be 26 rated with re rates, but still, not for one for me, but maybe he will be good for worse teams like the Pride.

Top youth striker prospect here with an unheard of 18 skill in shooting at just 16 years of age. Crazy times we live in! The one downside is that Ladue will need to play in the youths this season with foreign loan selection already been and gone which could stifle his development. In my opinion, it shouldn't hurt him, maybe only slightly in his 2nds and 3rds. Ladue will likely be ticked over 19.5 rated by the eos and will be an excellent foreign loan option next season for Great Preston. Only 1 passing will likely be able to be added though and 2 tackling in pre season training. Overall, I feel most people thought that Ant over spent here. I do not think so. I know the value of a top forward prospect like Ladue and GPA have picked up a prime player here.

A solid player is Basurto, if not spectacular or particularly exciting for me anyway. Again, the elites avoided, and The Flyboys picked up a very good player for about market price.

Similar to Ladue in week 3, Manthey was a heavy price but will be a top defender once he graduates at 22 years old. A question remains about whether his 2nds and 3rds can truly be elite, but there will be the option there for Middletown to double train both his passing and shooting at the end of the season. Again, the price paid was probably about right, if maybe a little high.

The only goalkeeper of the season has already been and gone and Holleran was skill capped, and only 23 years old. The price usually depends on supply and demand for goalkeepers. Who wants him at the time. Off he goes to the Snow Bears who got their man for a cool £25.7m, and they now have their goalkeeper sorted for many a season so probably an amount well worth paying if you needed a keeper.

Another top youth. Please will you slow down already with all the youth stars! Especially when we are skint haha. He might need some help though to be 27 rated at 22 years old which is the gold standard, so maybe not uber elite on a 2nd glance.
Now that we claimed the weekly back from the dastardly Mark Bradley, who would steal his own grandma's lunch, we will be back later in the season to review the rest of the weekly scout players.
Lights Out!
