Great Preston AFC, lost their first game of the season in spectacular fashion going down 4-1 to Baggies FC. The side remain top but confidence has been knocked, and Lassiano picked up a one week injury - which just happens to coincide with a midweek cup game, so arguably Great Preston's best midfielder misses two crucial games. The first an away cup trip to Midland FC.
Under Harris, the club initially shone in the cup winning back to back trophies in his first two seasons. However, the past two seasons have resulted in early exits, and the fans want a progression this time round.
Midland away is always a formidable task, and the draw has been unfavourable for Great Preston in this regard, but they will do their best to proceed!
One thing the injury has resulted in is, Etherington getting likely two starts in what will be crucial for his development. The 25 rated midfielder, really needs to hit 26 rated as soon as possible if he is to bolster Great Preston's midfield.
We sat down and spoke with Etherington earlier.
