Baba's 92nd Birthday - Seva

Special Narayana Seva for Bhagavan's 92nd Birthday was held at Missionaries of the Poor in the San Andres Bukid Area.  220 gift bags were presented to senior citizens and a handful supporting staff.

The program was preceded with Christmas and popular songs, keeping the crowd entertained, while waiting for the truck with all the gifts to arrive.  In the mean time some people asked who is Sai Baba, so we showed pictures of Swami from our cell phones.  And later a social worker asked if I would talk about Swami.

I explained that Sathya Sai Baba is a world class spiritual teacher from India, with following from about 126 countries.  His teachings are summarized with "Love all, serve all and help ever, hurt never."  This explains the motivation for the Seva.  The crowd applauded in appreciation and sang a birthday song for Swami, calling His name specifically.

The Seva was among the most organized we have seen and everybody walked away happy.  Though everyone thanks us, it is us who are thankful, specially to Swami for the opportunity to serve.
